GREAT better than the film, some distrubing images and iffy stuff
Better than the first movie-better story (though more characters to juggle), way better effects, and just overall a lot of fun.
It does have some pretty iffy violence (such as the fight between Deathstrike and Wolverine), but the only other concern is 2 brief sexual scenes, both involving Mystique. In the first, she seduces a security guard in order to help her boss Magneto escape (the scene is mostly suggestive). She also impersonates Jean, so she and Logan have a passionate make-out scene until he finds the scar he gave her.
Other than those concerns, it's ok for kids 12 and over-the sequence with Logan stabbing guards left and right is non-bloody but a little disturbing since it's dark. I only heard the use of the s-word and 2 4-letter words , so language is mild.
But the film has really good role models since one character sacrifices herself for others, and the other mutants are portrayed as putting others lives before their own wellfare. The villians in the film are clearly bad, though with the exception of Deathstrike, we don't actually see them get any punishment for their deeds (magneto and his cohorts get away and take one rebel mutant with them).
Overall though a great film, though over 11 is recommended.
I loved this movie but the common sense review was not good. Parents need to know that there kids are watching people stab each other for like half the movie. there isn't much blood but there's a LOT of violence. characters kiss but other than that no sexy stuff. A character sticks up their middle finger. there's d--k, d--m, and h--l. One character kind of scared me. he made these illusions where he was a freaky little girl that's pretty scary. over all a great movie.
X2 X-Men United is an exciting and fun movie that is a great adaptation of the X-Men franchise, and is a great way to spend two hours. However violence is a constant in this film including stabbing, drugging someone against there will, and punching/kicking others. Another large part of the movie is the sexuality which is a little scary. This includes Mystique and a men kissing each other passionately while stumbling around a bathroom, then going into a stall (still kissing) and Mystique starts taking off clothing. Then Mystique lays on a bed with Wolverine and kisses. The official review was not very accurate.
I am a xmen geek. It was so much better then the first one. My only concerns is the violance. They kiss, what ever. It just a little intence. OKAY. But it is a must see! I realy hope you enjoy it.
But it's still good. I think violence remains the same. There's more sex (some making out and steamy kissing), and Mstique is obviously naked (except for the scales). There's language and some smoking, too. 13+ is probably a good age to watch this
Really good sequel is averagely violent and has positive messages.
Like the first one, "X-Men 2", sometimes called "X2" is a very good comic book adaption. It is thought provoking, has great messages and great actors. And again, the highly skilled director Bryan Singer proves his talent.
"X-Men 2" has some violence, that is somewhere in between the PG and the PG-13 rating. The scenes are usually not bloody, and if, mildly. The violence is not disturbing or shocking and is surely handable for tweens.
I watched this movie when i was 10 and i did not find it too strong.
There are positive messages about discriminating is not good.
And the main characters are good role models (though being a bit sarcastic sometimes): they are outsiders for they aren't human but mutants, but still help humans, though they "sometimes scare them".
This x-men movie is more disturbing than the first but it's still pretty good. The violence has a lot even when you see wolverine blood covered. Sex a little more sex than the first. Language the s word different d words h words and more
This movie is pretty good, although it isn't as good as the first one. Once again, Wolverine has a potty mouth. The review didn't mention this, but there is one of "wheels's" old pupils who's father did the operation that they take out part of they're brain so they're less aggresive (they imply this, they don't show it), which is later joked about by Magneeto, on of the greatest bad guys ever. Magneeto also takes iron out of his guard's blood to break out of his plastic prison. There is also some kissing. Wolverine also is shot in the head, and puts out a cigar on his hand. Jean Grey also sacrificed her self for others, and later says the mutation thing. This might upset the few young viewers that like her. (How did you guess that I didn't like her!)
Way better than the first. Great graphics and excellent actors. When wolverine battes another mutant that has fingernail claws it gets relly weird because she falls into purple goo and it comes out of her eyes mouth and ears. One middle finger that was funny. A part where a guy blows up cops with his fire. A crazy blue devil guy who tries to assinate the president.
I saw X2 and liked it but I thought the 3rd film was better. I watched the film a bunch of times and couldn't see why people named it one of the greatest superhero features.
