Why We Rated This on for Ages 10 and Up

The good stuff

  • Messages:

A palatable, gentle "Jesus saves" message on one or two songs. Non-Christian families' mileage may vary.

What to watch out for

  • Violence:

One "woman-scorned" revenge song takes it out on the guy's car.
  • Sex:

There's some gooey love stuff, but nothing explicit.
  • Language:

    Not an issue.
  • Consumerism:

    American Idol tie-in.
  • Drinking, drugs, & smoking:

    Whiskey is mentioned, just once.

What Parents Need to Know

About Some Hearts

Parents need to know that there is no objectionable content in these (mostly) love songs by a recent American Idol favorite. There is some assumed Christianity on "Jesus Take the Wheel."

    A good CD

I like Carrie Underwood. This is a very good CD I have all the songs on my iPOD and they are very good. There is no bad language or content that anyone should be aware of. She has beautiful voice and is a refreshing and wholesome artist.

    Carrie's debut is outstanding

Sexual Content (Not an Issue): Flirty love songs, but nothing sexual. Violence (Not an Issue): Not unless a guy's car counts... Language (Not an Issue): None. Social Behavior (Not an Issue): Some listeners may not like a song about how Jesus saves. Commercialism (Not an Issue): Obvious American Idol tie-in. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco (Pause): One mention of whiskey.
