What's the story?

"EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED" is the sixth single from Taylor Swift's 2012 album Red and features rising British singer-songwriter and One Direction collaborator Ed Sheeran. The hopeful lyrics describe the intrigue and mystery of discovering new romance, much in the same vein as The Beatles' "I've Just Seen A Face," while the music video recalls the innocent longing of preteens depicted in Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom.

Is it any good?

QUALITY

Swift's and Sheeran's voices blend together beautifully over a warm acoustic guitar and a surging power-ballad arrangement. The lyrics are universal and non-threatening, yet another testament to Taylor's incredible ability to speak directly to her fan base while maintaining the solid structure of a pop song. The music video is touching, but manages to not be cheesy.

Families can talk about...

  • Families can talk about collaborations. Why do you think Taylor Swift chose to collaborate with the up-and-coming Ed Sheeran on this song? Do you see a similarity in their styles?

  • The music video features children who look like Taylor and Ed falling for each other in elementary school. Why do you think the producers made the choice to use child actors instead of the pop stars themselves?

Appropriate for everyone

Video and song soo adorable and friendly. Both song and video sends a good message for children and video shows that it's okay to be different (in a positive way). Anyone in the family member can listen/watch it.

Nice Taylor Swift Song

This was a nice song off of "Red". It's not my favorite (it's a little slow for my taste) but I still like it and would at least give it a 7/10 (3.5/5 stars). I don't think anything is inappropriate in this.
