The Common Sense Schools Parent and Teacher Media Education Program is a FREE program that:

• Gives parents and educators positive, practical information about 21st century issues: cyberbullying, social networking, video games, online safety and more
• Provides flexible, action-oriented online, print and video materials organized by grade level
• Offers content that complements schools' E-Rate efforts
• Is easy to implement and enhances your existing parental involvement and technology strategies

Working with parents is key to the program's success.

• A parent media survey
• A student media survey
• Our family media agreement
• More than 30 tip sheets on topics ranging from Internet safety to alcohol (sample below)
• 20 compelling videos
• Workshop presentation slides and scripts
• Online training on how to use the resources

These materials are great to use at parent education events, parent-teacher conferences and PTA meetings. Just download the PDFs and print them on regular office paper. You can also distribute information electronically through school newsletters or Web sites.
