It's true what the reviewers are saying, the show can be really good for a teenager's self-esteem but I recommend that is watched, if possible, with a parent. There is an episode that I watched were contestant cheats on her boyfriend after she gets really drunk. They all get in a hot tub with a guy each and... well, she does it. But later on she suffers, showing that actions like the one she did have consecuences. The kisses that are shown are intense and... well, although the couples don't go too far, It's better for you to be there. About Tyra Banks, she is a good role model. She talks to each girl individually when they are feeling down and cheers them up. My does seem to give really good advices to the contestants. I watched the first season with my brother and my little sister, she's 13 now. We stopped except her because she was and still is interesed in the fashion world. Sadly, Internet made her wish come true and kept on watching the show on her own. I found out too late what kind of show she was watching alone. My advice is to encourage your kids to watch it with you so that they don't feel the need to watch it by themselves, specially when they are younger than 14 and they are interested in being fashion designers or models (they will find a way to be informed)

I do not like this show at all. The contestants often come from circumstances so difficult that this show is a huge gamble for them, an all or nothing attempt to make it big on nothing more than their currently fashionable looks and photographability, and when only one woman wins and the rest go back to what they came from it must be devastating for them. In addition, the message is that a worthy model will do anything asked of them, including giving their all when seriously ill, or undergoing painful beauty treatments, or posing nude and/or kissing someone (often not well-known to them) just for the sake of a photo. These are not the values I want my three girls to embrace. Though the show claims to promote healthy values for girls, such as an episode that discouraged eating disorders, a perfectly beautiful and healthy-looking contestant was eliminated for being a few pounds overweight. (She looked just right, so she must have even been a bit on the too skinny side if t.v. adds wight to people's appearances.) Several of these down-and-out contestants are mothers who have left their babies for a long time to be on this show. I don't know why people want to watch often desperately unfortunate women gambling and putting everything on the line for a chance at stardom instead of encouraging them to work equally hard at furthering their educations and get work that would give them and their families security and stability. I hate how the contestants grovel at the feet of Tyra Banks who acts like an omnipotent Goddess who holds their entire futures in the palms of her hands. She and the other judges are often so cruel in their discourse on the worthiness of the contestants based solely on their appearances. Though there may be profanity, I am much less offended by that than the messages insidiously delivered to us on a silver platter. The whole show makes me really sad for the state of our values.

Women argue, including Bre pouring Nicole's Red Bull in the sink in cycle 5. Fatima uses F*ck in cycle 10. Anchal in cycle 7, uses the same word, but several times. Monique uses it too. Some words like Hate are used. Unbleeped words include H*ll, D*mn, A*s, and B*tch.

It's Tyra Mail!
Great show and getting greater. Watch it with your kids and it can help with body image and self esteem--to help them to not think this is the ideal. Some of it is way too over the top and catty. Could be a great educational tool. Tyra seems to be trying to show that a woman can be gorgeous no matter her size.

Great to watch with tweens/teens
When I was growing up, I always thought the life of a supermodel was non-stop glamor. This show provides a realistic look at what it takes to be a model. Yes, the girls are judged on their looks and photos. Hello! That's what the JOB of a model is! You are selling a product, whether it's clothing, makeup, or radial tires you need to be able to make it look like the most desirable item in the world. My girls and I watch it together, and they see how much hard work goes into modeling. The contestants have to deal with criticism from the judges and clients, as well as conflicts among themselves. I feel like watching this show is a guilty pleasure, but also an eye-opening one.

People lighten up!
I am a very proud mother of three. My daughers (just turned 11) both love this show. OF COURSE the girls are judged on how well they can take a picture. That's what models DO. This is a very good show for girls, especially tweens aspiring to be models. It shows the entire picture- yes, it's glamorous, but it's also alot of work. Tyra is a very good role model, and it's always fun to see who gets eliminated. Trust me, your girls won't become anorexic from this show. (Plus- size models have been in several seasons and made it quite far, and really were judged just like everyone else.)

NO NO NO!!!!~ There is so much anxiety causing material in this tv show, no wonder girls don't think they live up to the standard!!

Great show for tweens and teens!
I love this show! I watch it whenever it's on. It has plus size models. (I think one won a few cycles ago...I'm not sure.) over all It's a good show for tweens. (ages 10 and up, as i think of it.)

Hey everybody out there! But yesterday I got to thinking that instead of having girls on the show maybe they should try having a guys on America's Next Top Madel. To change it up and also because there are male models out there. Well thats my tought so ya

good show
This show is awsome thats for sure. Theres no real suggestive content so its ok for tweens and up. The only thing that is suggestive is what the models but you should already know that by the title.

Okay show...
This show is mainly fashion. It's just another reality show, another brick in the wall persay. It's just fluff for your brain. It also teaches girls bad body image because in one episode the women focused on what they hated about themselves. Some of their outfits are very provacative and the challenges iffy.

Woo Hoo!
This show rocks! But Tyra makes the dumbest decisions. I think it's good for anyone 8+ to really see that a model's life is not glamorous all the time. There are cat fights, but they aren't glorified, they are shown in a bad light, which may teach kids not to fight. For a more realistic glimpse into the modeling world, I would reccomend Australia's Next Top Model or Britain's Next Top Model.

pretty good show to watch with your mom. those who like this will like project runway.

Tyra is great
Tyra's show is great that they picture black girls as beautiful instead of ugly. And, they try to not make the models anorexic. So, this show is good.

Best Reality Show! Love it !
I love this show! My mom and I watch it every time it's on! Tyra is so cool, she is very nice and encouraging to the girls. She really cares aout all of them and you get a sense of motherliness from her. My favorite season so far is either the one where Danielle wins or Caridee wins. I also love the one where Niama wins!

Good
All my friends like this show. It doesn't have that bad of bad stuff

Tyra is Good
Contestants get to come from bad backgrounds and succeed. Personality is almost a bigger factor than appearance on the show. There are some cat fights, but who cares?? It's not a big deal. Tyra gives encouraging advice and is a good role model and a motherly character.

Oh dear....
I used to ABSOLUTELY LOVE this show, but I hate how they have changed it so much. The cycle that is on now, I do not like! The best seasons were Carrie Dee and Jaslene amd Selena

im a loyal viewer!
I have watched all 9 seasons of this show (and am now watching season 10) Over the years the show has started to deal with serious issues like body image, the negative effects of smoking, global warming, and other issues facing girls today. They have always strived to show that being a model is all about being a strong, powerful, confident woman on the inside as well as having beauty (sometimes unconventional) on the outside. All of the contestants live in the same house causing some violence (and cussing...most censored) between the women. Some of the women also bring they're bad drinking habits onto the show, but now less drinking is shown on air. i think that the maturity of your child should be considered, but i think 14+ would be a great age!

must see if over 13!
this show is pretty cool, i love watching it. The language is a little iffy, but everything else is great!

LOVE this show, but not sure if its good for anyone 13-
Extremely entertaining. My only issue would be the nude photoshoots and revealing clothing. overall, it is an OK show for 12+

Inspiring, Catchy, Not Bad
America's Next Top Model is a veyr interesting show. I am not a regular viewer, but occasionally watch is at my friend's houses. One of the main issues is homesexuality. Many of the men on this show are homesexuals, very obviously. No gay relationships are shown on the show. The girls sometimes cuss, but heavy cussing they "beep!" out. The girls drink and on one episode one was walking like she was drunk. The show is all about being a famous model, so insecure girls might be jealous or think they are not good enough. 13 & up, it's OK to watch. Nothing scaring or contantly lurking in your head.

kinda sad ...
This is a really great show, but it contains lots of violence, some drug use, adult contents. It's tottaly ok for teens to watch, but I wouldn't recommed it to kids under 12. Every girl stands next to the mirror for 2 hours after watching the show. Even though they say stuff like: " your personality matters too" , it doesn't. They pick the gorgeous ones.

I can't help watching this show. I really love how the photos come out and the girls are really pretty. I love how they get all excited. I also think Tyra Banks is a great model so its cool to see her coach beginning models.

THis show is good for girls probably ages 10 or 11 and up(know ur child)
This show has very mature content so Id say its good if ur 12, but if ur 10 and u watch this just make sure your mind is at least mature enough for it. THis show is not ok for an 8 year old to watch though!
