My son, then 11, and I watched the whole series. Both of us really enjoyed it. I thought it was a bit dark but ok for him. It's very funny and well done.

Smart Comedy
I saw this show the first time it hit the air (03) and have loved it since. If your 13 year old can enjoy this hsow then congratulations: you've raised quite a culturally sophisticated kid. Some sexual humor but nothing to explicit. Swearing is bleeped for the most part. Great odd-ball characters.

something i forgot to add in
I noticed Common Sense gave it a TV-MA rating. This is completely false. The first season is TV-PG and the Second and Third are TV-14

Best comedy to ever grace network television with it's presence
This show is rife sarcasm, irony, wit, and character quarks. There are many references to sex and drugs, most of which will fly over most kids heads. This show is also full of terrible people who rarely take the opportunity redeem themselves. Even though the one genuinely good character is often morally conflicted, it's all in the name of humor. i would recommend this show for anyone 14 and up. By the way, canceling this show was Fox's biggest mistake.
I rate this title iffy for age 15 and give itAn incredible show, but incredibly inappropriate!
Well, for starters, it is a shame this show got cancelled. This show was just hilarious. However, wholly inappropriate for anyone under the age of fifteen. The themes are very mature, but for mature viewers this show is such a treat. I've got to say, commonsense hit the nail on the head for this one. Know your kid. The language is frequent. Although the f**k's are bleeped over, it is still ver obvious what they are saying. There is A TON of sexuality, much too much for anyone under the age of fifteen. I suggest this show is appropriate for mature teens 15 and up.

Critically Over-rated. Deservedly negated
"Arrested Development" garnered outsized critical praise. Such praise had been so effusive and relentless that it became repetitious, dull, and unrevealing as to the shows real merits (there are none): "smart," "witty," and "brilliant." Critics, usually on blogs and websites, have smeared the "average viewer" who is obviously wit-impaired or simply put...stupid. The show is indeed high-concept and satirical. It is also mean-spirited, neurotic, and self-conscious. It's sole hero, with innocent child in tow, is unsympathetic, unconvincing and smarmy. Unfortunately, since Michael Bluth represents the single point of light in otherwise absolute darkness, his lack-of-virtue creates an overwhelming cynical ethos which the show cannot overcome. The jokes are all too often on the audience. The humor is sado-masochistic and New York City neurotic-- if it wasn't set in California. Perhaps, it's a bitter comedian's revenge? After all, comedy writer, one is told, are embittered miserable people. The jokes in "Arrested Development" provide a private language for those who admire similar (and far less successful efforts) on the part of Larry David. Cerebral and intellectual, this show may be-- but purely in the most masterbatory sense. Luckly, the writer has stopped his self-pleasuring, and mercifully the relentless PR machine known as "Arrested Development," replete with all its meaningless PR and accolades, can properly be laid to rest. With some luck, this show will enter complete oblivion never to return in syndication.

Satire at its best
This show is SATIRE, not real life, but really funny and creative. I am loving the DVDs of season 1 and 2. Too bad it was cancelled.

OK For Teens and Older
I am 13 and I love this show! Some people may not understand some of it, but most teens will understand the main plot. And probably all adults will. Some messages are bad and I am concerned about getting drunk. There are some sex but it is mainly just references. Some messages may be inappropriate, but mainly from people besides the main character. Legal loopholes and getting around the law is an issue. But overall this is a good show for teens.

The second funniest show I have ever seen!
This is a very funny show, it has alot of whit and charm that you don't find in many sitcoms these days, it dose have some issues though: 1. Some comic violence, but nothing graphic or frightening. 2. Some sexual conntent, nudity is blured out, Gob has sex wth many wemon, but all of it is implied, some other sexual jokes and refrences. 3. Language can be strong including: sc--w, a-s, d--n, h--l, b--ch, F--k and S--t are bleeped though. 4. Some drug use and refrences. So overall this is a very funny show for teens!

BEST SHOW EVER
Hmm, interesting. I didn't even know it was TV-MA. I would have said TV-14. Anyways, every single episode of AD is hilarious, but if you don't watch it in sequence it might confuse you or not be funny to you. I can't wait for the AD movie. I heard all of the cast is coming back and the movie is currently in production and is expected to come out in 2009. Whats with TV-MA? COME ON! Favorite Part: (Takes off Disguise). "I'm Gene Parmesan." Lucille: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

It's TV-14, Common Sense!
I love this show. It ranks below "The Dick Van Dyke Show", way below, but it's still so funny. See it! I'm sorry it got canceled. Age recommendation: 14+ (Not for any particular reason, just that younger kids might not get the jokes!)

This is a GREAT show
First of all, this show is not rated TV-MA. It is rated TV-14, at least the way I watched it. There is some talk that is foul, but it is generally ok for kids. The people lie, cheat, steal, and do whatever they want. It is violent as blood is shown, but unrealistically and to have some comedy effect. I love the show, along with The Simpsons. Parents may need to watch some before believing it is appropriate, but it is a treat for the smart people who understand the jokes.

Sad that it got cancelled
I started watching reruns of it this summer, and am very disappointed that it got sacked so soon. It is really hilarious when you get into it.

Great! Depending on what version you watch
This show is absolutely hilarious, nomatter what version you watch. However, when I first started watching it all of the F++K were beeped over, but recently I was watching it at a friends house and everything in it was seeable and hearable. There are several time whne characters are nude, but usually its blurred, where in the newer version it isn't. It whent from a rightful TV 14 to a rightful TV MA. DOn't let your kid watch the MA version, although it is impossible to tell which version it is until you the swearing starts. Throughout it you hear tons of swearing, but all to a PG-13 level. But not in the MA. If you watch the TV 14 version, Anyone 13 and older should be fine. Very little violence, all language and sexual stuff

A hilarious show, if some questionable content
This is one of the best, and funniest shows out there...even if it is canceled. There times when the F word is spoken, and it is quite blatant that it was said...which would be a parents greatest concern(along with sexual content). I personally cannot stand people who are so concerned about being PC...so what if they make fun of handicapped people? The biggest problem in this show is the language and sexual content, and some plot-lines revolve around affairs, open relationships, and a crushing cousin...I find these easy to look past with a show so creative and funny as this one...

A cancelled show brought back for good measure.
This show is great! Common sense doesn't know what they are talking about! Brought back on g4tv, everything is great! From the behavior, to the excellency, to the humour, everything is great to the last second!

Funnist Freakin show ever!!! (except maybe seinfeld)
This is a great show and why'll there is some sex and language the messege isnt that bad and it is not TV-MA it is actually Tv-PG(first season) and TV- 14 (second-third season) the cenccership is for commedic affect and they did not actually write a ton of bad words in it. so it is a great show for people 13+ and the jokes don't go over my head, and also on the dvd's the language is also censored for comedic affect
