Britney and Kevin: Chaotic

What’s the Story?

Reviewed by Kate Pavao

There really isn't much to this reality series that follows Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's romance as it blossoms into marriage. Britney's behind the camera much of the time, but she doesn't have much to say beyond asking her staff embarrassing sex questions and talking about how good her sex life is with Kevin.

Is It Any Good?

1

It's hard to know exactly what you're supposed to take from this. Shots of Britney performing to sold out crowds make you kind of admire her guts -- regardless of what you think of her music or dancing. She gives a tour of her bus, which makes you kind of feel sorry for her lonely life on the road. When she makes faces at the camera, you feel like she's still a kid underneath all the makeup and hair extensions.

But those are just fleeting moments. Mostly, the material here is boring and adolescent: Britney taping Kevin in the shower, Britney jokingly advising her assistant to have sex because she's too stressed. And -- judging from the debut episode -- it's hard to see any real romantic spark between Britney and Kevin; they just seem like two kids having a wild romp in the UK. Ultimately, the most fascinating part of the show is watching Britney's face in the various scenes and noticing that she looks different almost every time you see her. What the heck does she really look like?
