Coastal Dreams

What’s the Story?

Reviewed by Melissa Camacho

COASTAL DREAMS is an original online drama about a group of twentysomethings who are spending the summer together in the fictitious California beach town of Pacific Shores. Zoe (Danica Stewart) needed to escape her Texas hometown after ex-boyfriend Sebastian tried to kill her during their senior year of college. And her best friend, Stacey (Tanee McCall), wants to enjoy life while earning some money to pay for law school. So they move in with Zoe's cousin April (Kam Heskin), a former model and globe trotting businesswoman who inherited a fortune from her deceased father and lives in a luxurious beachfront house. The summer promises to be fun one, especially when they meet good-looking guys like April's caretaker/boyfriend Christian (Charlie Koznick) and Will (Ken Luckey), Pacific Shore's deputy sheriff. But things are far from relaxing when romantic sparks begin to fly -- and strange phone calls and text messages set the stage for eventful moments to come.

Like other teen-targeted soaps, Coastal Dreams boasts a good-looking cast that isn't afraid to flaunt it. Shirtless men, bikini-wearing women, and skimpy lingerie play up the show's fun, sexy image. Meanwhile, Zoe's backstory paves the way for some suspense (and perhaps even violence).

The show also features interactive elements: Viewers can receive text messages, calls, and emails on their cell phones from the show's characters.
