What to watch out for

  • Messages:

    Many of the jokes highlight racial stereotypes and sexist behavior. Rhonda is very assertive. Molly can't work upstairs because of her weight. Some diversity among the cast.

  • Violence:

    Some minor arguing between hotel staffers. Lots of slapstick stumbling.

  • Sex:

    Lots of strong sexual innuendo. Neal is both sexist and a womanizer; he refers to many of the women as "hot chicks." Frequent references to homosexual relationships.

  • Language:

    Language includes words like "bitch," "hell," and "ass."

  • Consumerism:

    Not an issue.

  • Drinking, drugs, & smoking:

    References to drinking.

About Do Not Disturb

Parents need to know that this sitcom about the antics of the staff at a trendy New York City hotel isn't intended for younger audiences. A lot of the humor relies on racy sexual innuendoes, as well as sexist and racial/ethnic stereotyping. One employee isn't allowed to work on guest floors because of her weight. There's also some strong language ("bitch," "ass") and references to drinking.
