This is a fantatic show and is an improvement on the excellent series of the 70s. The plots are deep and deal with important moral messages of war, environmental destruction, lust for power. It assumes that children have a brain and can think, which is missing in most shows. It is also funny and full of enough action to keep them interested to get the message. One episode from the 3rd season gave my 7 year old nightmares, so some caution is warranted.

One of my favorite all time shows
I've been a fan of Dr Who since the original series (started watching in the 1970's). I've been pleased with the update, but long time fans should be aware that there is far more sexuality and adult language in the current incarnation than in the one from past years. The biggest concern is still the violence (genocide of aliens, not too gory death) but every act of violence, and every death, has consequences. A good show for the whole family.

Not really good for younger kids because it can be scary at times (even for us adults), most of the innuendo (very rarely happens) will go over the head of youngsters. Only "iffy" sexual situations involve Captain Jack Harkness, who is bisexual and only in a total of 6 episodes in the first 3 series of the new run. this is British TV, so references to the pub and drinking are minimal, but treated as normal.

Wonderful show
I have seen every episode that still exists and can easily say that this is one of the best shows ever made. It is too intense for little kids, but if they are over 8, they will love it. The new version is different from the original in that it moves faster and has better banter. The show can be violent, people tend to die in every episode. It is not appropriate for preschoolers. I have a 3 year old and I won't let her watch it for a few years. Sex isn't really an issue. The Doctor has never messed around with his companions. There have been occasional kisses but they are played off as jokes. Overall, it is an amazing concept that has been (mostly) well written since it began.

An apple a day keeps the - Oh nevermind
BBC's "Doctor Who" is one of my favorite shows, and for alot of reasons. It follows the adventures of "The Doctor", an alien travelling in a time machine called the "TARDIS". The show is action packed, with suspenseful plots and horrible alien monsters, but usually the Doctor will usually come up with a solution or invent something rather then confront it with violence, despite the overeagerness of the Human organizations "Torchwood" and "UNIT" The Doctor himself is actually one of the scarier characters, as we know his race was wiped out in a war with the Daleks, the war ended by the Doctor himself. No Time Lords survived. This shows some of the deeper themes of the show, and it often explores other moral issues as the Doctor goes up against the next alien or monster. Overall, a dazzling show with witty characters, great monsters and an simple, yet engrossing plot. And if I had my own TARDIS, I'd probaly go....World War Two...the Sixties.....and of course, whenever we get Mar's. Hope I dont see any Daleks D:

Great, but a bit childish and boring
Well in my words, its childish, abit boring, not really funny and to silly! when i started watching this i loved it, and i still like it now, but not really for teenagers, It was amzing idea to bring out torchwood for the teenagers!!! Thanks BBC!!!, lOOK AT MY OTHER REVIEWS!

Doctor Who
RSKKZ Rating: 10 for fantasy violence, mild language and suggestive themes. What Rodni Says: I love Doctor Who, it is so fr**kin awesome! It is always suspenseful, may be too scary for younger kids (and my Mom), but kids 10 and up should be fine watching it. This show is so cool that it's hard to describe it: great job writers and actors, Doctor Who rocks!
- I rate this title on for age 10 and give it
Brillant. Just Brillant!
This BBC Sci-fi show i funny, witty, but it can be scary and emotional at times.
- I rate this title on for age 2 and give it
Ok this is an absolutly awesome show!
This is the best show ever I love it! It is so addicting! All of the seasons are awesome. Some of the coolest aliens he meets are The Ood, The Daleks, The Cyberman and Davros in his final appearance ever. Davros has been in the old Doctor who's. Doctor who has been really good to me and I say anyone who's anyone will like Doctor who.

Doctor Who is fantastic(I love The 9th Dr.)This should be updated though because it's in its 3rd season and Freema Agyeman is the companion Martha now, actually Donna Noble played be Catherine Tate is now.If you're gonna watch check up on the first, second, and now third season on dvd.Don't skip the first cause Christopher Eccleston to me is better then David Tennant, but it's just my opinion.

hehe! The Doctor! YAAAAY!
Again, I think you americans have winded up with the cut down Doctor Who! haha! Doctor Who often features violence, in The End Of the World episode, people are being killed by creepy spiders being controlled by Cassandra, the 'Last Human'. Just you wait till the 2nd series..... its even scarier
