What to talk about

Talk to your kids
Families can talk about why a party or new clothes might make a person feel better about themselves. Does this show help people start over? Can products really help someone heal?

What's the story?

What's the story?
Friends and family work together with hosts Kristin Cavallari (Laguna Beach) and Ethan Erickson (Extra!) and event coordinator to the stars Lara Schriftman to throw the party of a lifetime for a deserving loved one in GET THIS PARTY STARTED. The show foots the bill in an effort to bring joy back into the life of someone who has been through a struggle. In one episode, for example, a family who suffered through Hurricane Katrina had to put the 21st birthday of their daughter and sister, Alexis Jones, on the back burner. But older sister, Arin, contacted the show to throw Alexis a surprise party in Las Vegas. These two sisters, while attending college, have been helping support their family after the hurricane, and adjusting to life in a hotel.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

What Get This Party Started does with its product placement is nothing new, making it no more harmful than any other makeover program. The show's heart is in the right place, and the program is relatable for tweens and teens. But while it's nice to shower a deserving person with expensive gifts, you have to wonder how new Ugg Boots are going to help with their healing.
