House MD is the latest and probably better Doctor-Show. There have been lots of shows that glorify MD's, but this one has some improved aspects to it. For example, House, an apparent "know it all" speaks with authority, but is more often wrong than right and could never come to the right conclusion without the team approach which provides the process for effective reasoning. A lot of people seem to miss the obvious point - "great" doctors or "greatness" itself is truly only achieved through collaboration, not by the individual - the sum of the parts is greater than the parts themselves. Also, House becomes addicted to an Rx drug. This may seem like a put-off, but I think it's fairly realistically achieved and unfortunately, all to common. The way his cohorts cope with and enable his addiction is very realistic. The medical field is notorious for not doing enough to take care of it's less than desireable MDs. And the perennial question is always, "when do the means no longer justify the ends?" That is perhaps the most common theme to the shows - pushing the limits for life. The show can present an enormous amount of good family discussions especially with younger children who tend to idealize the world and have difficulty working through gray areas.

Great for Adults
This is a great show, but it is for adults. The themes are simply inappropriate for children. There is so much great programming for kids and teens out there - let them watch shows that are not focused on middle aged doctors with failed marriages, drug addictions and chips on their shoulders! The idea that a bizarre medical crisis can hit a person out of the blue and bring them to near-death suffering is also not one that you want to plant in your child's brain. There is just no reason for sharing this show with your 12 year old!

Come on
It's not that bad. The worst was the TV-MA-LSV episode, and that episode was not that bad. The worst words were the b word, and that's not used a lot.

<3
He is tv's sexiest character <3 the series is just awesome and the characters are written well in order to play their part in this series and Hugh... well he is just so goddamn sexy. Yes it's crude and he is rude but really its just a great series. It is a show that is best suited mature audiences and not really for younger ones. so i'd say 14+ or so. Bit graphic as well but all in all it is bloody awesome mate <3 Hugh <3

Addicting
This show became an obsession within three days. Hysterically funny, and the medical aspect is super interesting. Though there are insults, drugs/drinking, and sexual innuendos, this is perfectly fine for any fourteen year old. At thirteen, know your kid. Or even better, watch it with them! This is definitely a show to watch with family or friends. Also, episodes can be great for debates/friendly discussions. Ultra awesomeness. Yeah.

one of my favorite shows on tv...
While House is sometimes crude and all the time very rude to everyone, he remains one of my favorite characters on tv...i actually learn a few things from the show and i enjoy the warped sense of humor that is played out...i think that this show is fine, but not for children...there's too much that they wouldn't understand...

One of Television's Most Provocative Dramas
House is a great show that deals with many moral issues and personal issues as well. Violence is extreme for a TV-14, though. In the season finale, a man's eyeball pops out of his head, and the same man is cut open with a robotic scalpel... A big one... House's pill-popping, however, is not portrayed in a positive light. He goes through detox and relies on them to do even basic things. Overall, I'd say this show is good for mature 14-16 year olds.

Cannot miss
House is the best medical show on tv . It is so much more accurate to real medicine and the characters are very unique and interesting . It does have some Gore but what do you expect in a medical show ? and there is sex , drugs and language . I reccomend it for people aged 14 and up.

Intelligent Medical Thriller
House is a great show if a child can handle it. The show does contain some mature content: sexual references, drug addiction, and the occasional bad language and medical gore. However, it does contain a very good message being that people will do whatever it takes to help someone. House frequently risks losing his job and license in order to save patients. It also brings up good questions about ethics that can be discussed after the show. In reality it depends upon the maturity and sensitivity of the child.

Great medical show
This is one of the few shows that I watch. I believe that high school is an appropriate time for kids to start watching this show. Parents need to talk to their kids about drug addiction and breaking the rules when their kids watch this show. Just know your kid. Very funny show over all though.

My favorite of the medical dramas
Out of all of the medical dramas on TV, this has to be my favorite. The characters are interesting to watch, and House himself adds a humorous touch to the show. There can be a lot of sexual content. Violence and gore could be an issue for some, but it's all strictly medical. Language is strong at times. "Bitch" and "ass" are used frequently. I do watch this with my 12-year-old sister, who is incredibly mature for her age. Overall, a good show, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under 14.

I LOVE this show!
This is an awesome show, but does show some dramatized medical procedures, so not for the squeamish. Make sure your kids are over 13...

Mature Audiences Only
This show deals with moral issues such as saving a death-row inmate's life, a patient's right to die and drug addiction of a doctor with chronic pain. These mature themes make the show unsuitable for children younger than 17.

Watch it with your teens
Lots of thought provoking issues are raised in each episode. A great show for watching with teens because it almost alway sparks a good conversation (or 3!) House's biting comments to co-workers and patients are not a bad example to use when discussing the power words have on those we interact with.

perfect for anyone mature whos interested in medicine
ok. heres the deal with HOUSE. this is a very good show about extreme medical cases. greg house is the head of the department of diagnosic medicine, whos job is to save patients other doctors have no idea whats wrong with. his job "requires" him bending hospital rules and using loopholes. his often crazy moves result in saving lives. house had an infarction in his thigh, (an infacrtion is when you have like heart attack or a pulminary embolism-you get a blood clot and blood flow to that area stops. the muscle in his leg died, and causes him much pain.) as a result of the infarction, house is a addicted to vicoden, a powerful pain reliever. depending on the episode, house will verbally abuse his coworkers, and make sexual suggestions towards his boss, dr. cuddy(who usually has plunging necklines). if i may add, you have to be smart to get this show, or its not worth watching. when i first starting watching it, i watched it with my mom, so she could explain what happens. after a while i got the show and the concepts, and it inspired me to become a doctor. this is a very interesting show for anyone who can understand it. the most interesting and unusual medical plots.

Some iffy content, yet very good
This show has a great storyline and actors in it. There are some sexual references, language, and drugs. Symptoms of patients might scare children & be violent. There are also health issues mentioned that are sexually transmitted. I would recommend having "The Talk" with your kid/parent before seeing this. Awesome show!

love the show but come on this site made a mastake there is sex in this show and one doctor was gay.

For older kids who can handle blood and vomit
I love this show however the language might be a little too strong for some and the sex is a little too much. Only once hav I seen something between the doctors get a little too much. The doctor's have mentioned some innuendo and some patients have relations at the beginning of some episodes however they are usually brief.

This is a great show for anyone who is old enough to understand it, my mom got me hooked a couple years ago and its a great show with great surprises. I urge anybody who likes a compelling and smart comedy/drama to watch this atleast once however i recommend renting the first season and wathing them in order or it wont make any sense

- My highlights are:
- Good role models
you could really watch it with any age of child, because younger audiences really couldnt comprehend the scary aspects
I love this show! This show is perfectly fine for anyone who can take a bit of realistic gore(you could call it that, its not like friday the 13th, obviously, but its realistic gore from when they are doing surgery etc.), and plus, its only like every 8 or so episodes, and maybe a little scary elements, of all the highly unlikely, but possible things that could happen, but because that only applies to those who can understand it, you could honestly be watching it with your 4 yr old kid next to you, just because you want to keep track of them, and they really wouldnt feel any of the scary vibes. And who doesnt want to be witty like gregory house when they grow up :D(about the 'good role model' highlight)
- I rate this title on for age 11 and give it
great drama for double digits
I started watching it this year and I love it. It's extremeley clever, and although you may say that "It's messages and role models are bad!" that's what makes it good. It's not supposed to be picture perfect, it's the darker side of life, and shows that hard times can turn around. I feel this's a good show since it has an awesome sense of humor, shows what it's like to be a doctor and you see clips of surgery but not to a horrible extent, just flashes, and it's clever.

This show is really godd and entertaining!

House = Love.
The sex and violence terribly extreme [how is a medical procedure violent? or does violence equal any blood?]. There are occasionally strippers/sexual fantasies, but they last a few minutes and don't show any nudity on screen. Usually, though, it's limited to innuendo. Funny, funny stuff. I love what house does to Tritter. I watch it every night that it is on. Fine for anyone who doesn't mind the medical procedures.

House is my favorite TV show.
I love House. It gets a bit graphic at times, but people should know their limits, so ask your son/daughter if they would be OK. It is also humorous because of Dr. House's disposition, but he can sometimes be a bit rude. Not much language, but a few adult themes like sex (not shown) and marriage, dating.

house is freakin good
i love house. its a good show but sometimes it deals with some sexual stuff thats not for young children. there is not like extremely graphic violence, just medical violence. and it will cuss some but just tell kids not to say stuff like that. and dr. houses pill-popping thing is a bad rolemodel to kids. overall id say house is for a mature 11 mabey 12. but viewer discretion is advised.
