What’s the Story?

In IGPX, two teams driving high-tech fighting machines compete in a futuristic race called the Immortal Grand Prix. The tournament pits two groups, Team Sledge Mamma and underdogs Team Satomi, against each other in a 12-round battle in which the teams much destroy their opponent's mecha (robotic fighting machines) using various weaponry. The pilots are shielded inside a pod called a "hide shell," but once the mech is destroyed, the hide shell is ejected. After the 12 rounds, the two best teams advance to the finals. The starring role of Takeshi Jin is voiced by Haley Joel Osment of The Sixth Sense.

What's interesting about IGPX is how the characters and storyline are developed. Thanks to good acting and high-quality animation, viewers may find themselves forgetting that this is a cartoon and tuning in each week to see what happens next to the likeable members of Team Satomi.
