What’s the Story?
Patricia Arquette stars as Allison, a law student and mother who can see and communicate with the dead through her vivid dreams and visions. She can also see the future. She uses her unique ability to solve and prevent crimes as she attempts to live a regular life with her husband and family. Often people doubt her gift, so much of the drama comes from watching Allison convince them that they must act and stop a criminal before it becomes too late. The show is based on the real-life adventures of research medium Allison Dubois.
Is It Any Good?
Although the show's premise may intrigue kids, it's just too intense and scary for them. A recent episode featured the return of a spirit Allison had previously battled -- only this time, the murdering doctor is after Allison's 14-year-old daughter. Other episodes have featured pedophiles, serial killers, and rapists. Bottom line: Adults may find the show intriguing, but kids should not tune in.
