I loathe Pokemon. I have seen it's affects on the playground. It turns Kindergarten children into fighting combatants on the playground. Bullying often follows with fears of falling and being hurt by invisible energy balls. I never allow it into my classroom or on the playground.

Educational for all ages!
Pokemon has some educational values. Science to be specific. Children as young as 5 year's old can easily discuss the difference between fire grass water & thunder (the main Pokemon in the series) and discuss what effect one has on another.

This show is tame!
I can't think of much more tame than this. It's also pretty old school. I can remember this being on when I was a kid.

If animated cock fighting is okay with you, then I guess the show is passable. That is all that this show really is. My daughter will not be watching.

OK for all kids
While this show is centered around the sport of fighting, the good definitly outweighs the bad. Ash and company always play fair, try their best to do the right thing, and display great concern for the wellbeing of their pokemon. The battles never result in death, and the pokemon are obviously designed for their lot in life, as shown by their evolution aspect. Pikachu's obvious love and loyalty for Ash speaks highly for the concept that good treatment will result in a happy pet.

Not for children under 11
I don't think children under 11 should watch this show because of the violence.

Repeating plot over and over with only new characters
The show definitely tries to teach good morals, but it is mostly a product placement and a broken record. I did like the beginning of the series though. It was quite funny then.

It's a children's cartoon for everyone!
I think that Pokemon is a great show, however there are a few things you need to be aware of. Pokemon trainers use Pokemon in battle, moves vary from being very weak to very strong. In almost every Pokemon episode, there's something explosive involving Team Rocket. Sometimes, they use guns, but not ones with bullets. Also, I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, Pokemon trainers use medicine to heal their Pokemon, sometimes the Pokemon are taken to hospital, and sometimes Brock goes into a pharmacy. There are some positive messages. It's educational because Ash & the gang always get along with new people they meet. (Social skills.) The positive messages are that sometimes you don't win, but keep trying... (something like that) Also, Ash & the rest are great role models for children. Overall, it's a brilliant show but sometimes the end is predictable.

Perfect show
I started watching two years ago. I fell in love with the story and and characters. It was when it appeared on boomerang I started recording it. I would watch it before school and after. I wouldn't have the friends I have when I started going to the school I'm at now. We had something in common Pokemon. =)

Here is a quote from Fox News. 'The standoffs are about as nonviolent as a fight can be. The losers don't die, they just faint.' And, another thing, you have to have a reason to hate it. You can't just go, "I don't like it" just for no reason.(This happens all the time at my school.) There is nothing wrong with this show, or the games. And I have a book of gaming world records, and in ther it has a quote from my least favorite part of my religion, the Christian Coalition. They say these outlandish things like demons are gonna make an army of satanists that'll take over the world. Two words. Total, bull. Also, I found on Fox News that a ten year old boy used a FOAM PELLET gun to make his classmate give him Pokemon cards. That has nothing to do with Pokemon, that kid just has issues. Oh yeah, guess what else? Even if it is 'all about marketing' that's good for the economy. You spend your money on Pokemon stuff, Nintendo emploees get paid, they but stuff, those people get paid, it just goes on. And the thing where Pokemon Valentine's Day candy had metal in them, that was our own communist toy/plastic/anything producer's fault. Because we're forcing Chinese people to make stuff at the speed of light so we can endulge and spoil ourselves, they probably accedentally dropped a staple in there. Now, once again the Pokemon only fight because they share a close bond with their trainers.

You've got this show all wrong
This show is exellent for all ages, in fact, I've been watching it since I was five. The episodes are not familliar in any way. There is always something different happening. There are a lot of episodes without the bad guys at all. What kind of 'tie-in' products? This show is not all about marketing, if it was, Ash wouldn't be on an adventure, he would be sittin' on his butt all day playing a Game Boy and playing with trading cards. 'Can we expect our own pets to fight for us!?' Of course not, that's why it's animated! 'Pitting monsters against each other using a multitude of attacks' the Pokemon only battle because they have respect and friendship for their trainers! Ash's Carizard, did not obey him because it had a different trainer first and it didn't respect Ash! Lazer blasts? I forgot the episode where Pikachu reenacts Star Wars. Twerp and knucklehead aren't so bad they can't be said, or else 4kids Entertainment wouldn't allow it, and they're worse about family appropriate material than Common Sense Media. And what's all this monster stuff? They're their own biological species, not monsters.

Its great.
I remember this show I really liked it. I watched it when I was like 4.Since I don't have cable I wasn't able to keep watching it. It might be confusing for little kids because I kept wondering how did the pokemon fit into those small balls. I just love it when they have their funny moments like when brock (i think that's how you spell his name) gets all lovey-dovey xD

It`s the Best
Pokemon was started the year I was born and so I grew up with it and I`m still watching the tv show, collecting things, and playing the games. Even though some people say that they have always hated Pokemon, they`re lying, at one point in everyone`s life they have loved Pokemon.

Not So Sure
I've never ever seen this show, but all my friends have. I always thought it would be "little-kiddish", but now I have read the reveiws and honestly, it ISN'T for little kids by the looks of it. But I don't see how it could be bad, like some people say it is for a high age. Hey, I have the video game and I've pretty much completed it, plus my younger cousins have. One of my friends started playing at age 5, and also the game is based after the show. So the video games should have the same level of violence. And I'm totally fine with the video games!!!!!!!!!! How can anyone say it's too violent for 8 and up? I never saw it so I give it three stars at most.

UGGH WHEN WILL IT END??!!
The most overrated show on earth it was great when i was like 5? but hen at 13 the "plot"is far from over. Ash youre never gonna catch em all there is too amny and they JUST KEEP MAKING MORE! this show seriously needs to end i love the cute pokemons and i hate it when they get hurt and stuff but whatever thats not the problem. It's faaar too strtched out.

Repetitive
Every episode is the same. Ash and company, whomever they may be at the time, meet a new Pokémon. Oh no! Team Rocket steals it along with Ash's special super-Pokémon, Pikachu! But it's okay, somehow they are defeated and are sent flying off into the horizon (with no injuries worse than smudges). Seriously, after five hundred repetitions of this formula it has definetly gotten boring. The show itself is kid-friendly and Americanised, thanks to 4Kids and PUSA. Only twice is blood shown, and not in a violent context. Any questionable objects have been edited out (Like guns and an inflatable breast suit that male character wears in a very early episode). If your kid is easily amused and doesn't mind repetition, this show is for them. Pokémon never really get hurt, and if they do, they'll be healed. I've been a PokéFan since the age of FIVE, dear parents, and I am a perfectly normal child in every sense. writing Pokémon fanfiction (stories based around a particular fandom) has increased my English grade, and I do not plagiarise. I have a good network of friends due to a common interest in Pokémon, too. So stop worrying, you silly Soccer Moms. I still stand by my statement that the manga known as Pokémon Special/Adventure should be converted into an anime, because it has PLOT (Oh my God!), unlike this simplistic cartoon suitable for anyone over three.

good but not for littler kids
kinda violent good for 10 11 and up maybe even 9 but not for kids below the age of 9

Give Pokemon a break!
Im Shiny_Pinsir. (Pinsir is a beetle-like pokemon)I am a HUGE pokemon fan. The other day i was browsing the net, when i stumbled upon something that crushed me. Preists and Parents, Rabbis, and Protests about Poemon being under occult, racist, sexist, and sexual. I read the 12-page review for why. So many lies have never been assembled in one spot. For one, Preists and Rabbis, im looking at you! Just because something isn't directly associated with religion, doesn't make it bad. Yes, if you listen to the theme song backwards, you might THINK you her "Satan is awesome". But the reality of it i that so many parents are so determind to bring Pokemon down, they force themselves to hear these kinds of things. It's as though they listen to whatever sounds closest to an "evil cult message" and post it on the internet. There was an issue once about a swatiska (Nazi symbol) on a Pokemon Trading Card. This led Jewish communities all over te world into a flurry of Pokemon-Hating. This was a complete accident, as further resource by myself revealed that the so-called swatiska was actually a japanese symbol. When the American localisers print the cards, they have to flip the image, because japanee read right to left and vice-versa for USA. The flipping of the japanese symbol lead to it resembling a swatiska, and that issue skyrocketed out of control. Then the Burger King Choking issue. Is it Pokemon's fault if parents are too dumb to keep track of wat thier babies are putting in thier mouths??!! All I want is for fellow Kids and PokeFans alike, if you are reading this, please, help the kids have a voice in this. The Kids must be heard and now is the time to do it. Dont let parents and angry adults that jump to conclusions be the downfall of one of the greatest animes of all time. Gotta Save em' all, my friends, Gotta Save em' all!

I love this show!
I love this show a lot! But I've only seen Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl. The funny thing is that Team Rocket are not REALLY evil. If you think that, you should see the episodes "The Elecktrike Company", "All Dressed Up With Somewhere to Go", and the Hearthome tag battle ones (forgot the names). Anyway, about the show, Ash and his friends go on adventures, and have fun (sometimes). I can not pick a favorite character! I like them ALL! Well, exept Hunter J. It is not really that violent, Pokemon do not die. I also own Pokemon Pearl for DS (see my review for Pokemon Diamond). I can not wait for The Rise of Darkrai! It's on tomarrow! Also, the Team Rocket Diamond and Pearl motto is stuck in my head! Goodbye for now.

Best ever. Pwns Disney
This is the best friggin show evah. Screw the AntipokeChristians. They are just another insane branch of good regular Christianity. Of course i'm Catholic and none of my religion thinks satanic about Pokemon. If we compared Disney and Pokemon on kid safe content, in my opinion. Pokemon would be Lake Superior and Disney would be Salt Lake. I mean, Pokemon is best and Safe! I can't beleive there isn't antidisneyCatholisism/christianity. THAT'S what should happen. Let Pokemon be the best of the best, and Disney rot in Heck for it's dumb and unsafe stuff.
