The humor is gross, and is not appropriate for kids under 11 or 12.

Parental advisory: extremely explicit content
This is one of the worst cartoons that I saw in my past time. It ridicules the patriotic song entitled My Country, 'Tis of Thee with the lyrics of the Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen. It also depicts ill-doing in the light of humor by showing Ren and Stimpy practicing Sodomy. When The Ren and Stimpy Show was on Nickelodeon, this show was rated TV-Y7, but the content of this show is extremely sordid, that it show be rated TV-MA. There is also a lot of graphic images within each episode such as the hairy buttocks frequently being exhibited.

- Excessive violence
This show has been great for my kids. They have been watching it since they were about 5 years old. And to this day the they still watch it when it is on Nicktoons. Although, when I looked back at some of these episodes, it was fairly violent and disturbing in some parts.

This show is made for more mature adults
It doesnt make sense, and it refers to some bad things, listen to the happy joy joy song, its a family show because these subjects fly over your kids heads, but its kind of messed up.

Off 6- Iffy 7-9 On 10+
PPL used to think it was inappropriate in the 1990's when it was on tv, but now it seems pretty tame, as said by my dad.

Most Intelligent Kids Cartoon, but ONLY FOR KIDS THAT CAN HANDLE IT
THIS REVIEW ONLY DESCRIBES THE FIRST TWO SEASONS, BECAUSE EVERYTHING AFTER THAT POINT WAS HORRIBLE, MOSTLY BECAUSE THE CREATOR WAS FIRED FOR MISSING DEADLINES! I'll start off with the positive. Positive message: The show presents a STRONG message about tolerance. Ren and Stimpy, like Bert and Ernie, are often implied to be gay. It teaches kids there's nothing wrong with homosexuality. Tolerance is a very important message in our homophobic world. Violence: This is THE most violent kids show in existance. Ren frequently has mental breakdowns. It is explored with the depth of all great works of literature---well, as much as it can be in a kids show. Ren occasionally attempts to kill Stimpy. When he does so, it is frightening for most young children. Characters commit suicide. NOT FOR KIDS UNDER TEN! Sex: Not an issue, UNLESS YOU'RE A DIRTY HOMOPHOBIC JERK. Language: Not an issue. Consumerism: Your kids may want to buy the old Ren and Stimpy merchandise on eBay. Drinking, drugs, & smoking: Characters occasionally smoke.

I love this show!!
This show rockz. It is so funny!! They are like sooooooooo gay!! In one episode stimpy takes of his fur and gets naked and says "Oh Reeeeeeeeen." Then they both get naked and go in a lake together. They totally dig each other. LOL!!

humiliating!
Ren & Stimpy is not bad and they are not gay!

This is a really funny show.
Ren and Stimpy is awesome, and is a great show. But watch out when you let some children watch this. It's rated TV-Y7 for kids age 7 and above. This show is violent and homosexual related stuff. Know your kids. I would put a 7+ iffy stuff or not age appropriate. The tv ratings are always right. Well the creator got fired, so probably 10+.

11+

Hilarious!
Unlike most kids, I tend to like the old shows nick had and theres very few new shows on nick that are good. I'm a R&S fan. I think this show is ok for ages 8 and up.

a must see
Was a good show I loved it! I have 2 words to say to Nick: Curse you! I do understand they behaved wrongly in some episodes but Nick didn't have to go take this show away!

I'm suprised they air this on a kids channel.
This show is funny but it's pretty bad for a kids' cartoon. Not for little kids. Tweens and teens are fair game, though.
- I rate this title off for age 2 and give it
this show is dumb!
ren and stimpy is so dumb! not for kids, first ren and stimpy was in nick but now it become for adults and its on spike. !dont watch it.

This cartoon is pretty good!
I'm usually rarely impressed by many cartoons, but Invader ZIM, Courage the Cowardly Dog and Ren and Stimpy (I'm leaving some out, I think), are the ones who have come the nearest to making me go "Wow!" But they didn't. They are decent anyways. This is one of the cartoons I grew up watching and I grew up loving. It's not really for kids and the violence makes me flinch. A lot of sexual humor in it too. Apart from that, I love it. Some people won't, but hey, I love anything original and different. I haven't seen an episode in years, but from memory, I remember some scenes that absolutely terrified me. The Ren and Stimpy airing now is mostly clean though. I think the DVD version is "Uncut". Or so I hear. Hey, I recommend it. Just watch out for somethings if you have kids. (If you don't like stupidity and wacky plots, don't watch this.)
