Hilarious Show But Not For Kids Under 9
- I rate this title on for age 11 and give itMy concerns are:
- Inappropriate sexual content
The language is mild, the violence is silly, but some of the sexual references are very inapropriate and funny for adults and 11 year olds who know what sex is and how it is bad. It is mainly up to the parent to decide, and some shows are appropriate, while others are not.

Not as bad as Family Guy
Most episodes of this show are O.K. for kids to watch, unless you worry about Homer's frequent alcohol consumption. Some episodes have mildy sexual content, so watch out. About the bad language, however, from what I can tell, my 12 year old son hears worse in middle school than this show ever utters. One last note; although Bart can be a bad role model, most of his stunts would be impossible for your child to repeat, so I wouldn't worry too much.

PG-rated Clean Humor Still Exists!! Fun for the Whole Family!!
This fantastic program comes on FOX Sunday nights at 7:00 (central time; time slot changes occasionally due to other programs). It has been on the air since 1989 and is still funny fun for the whole family. Jokes are good for both parents and children who are old enough to understand that a cartoon is not reality, so I'd say age 9+. It is chock-full of "Homer Humor" for adults and "Bart Humor" for kids. The only bad thing in the show is how Homer's alcohol abuse is depicted as having no negatives and "Itchy & Scratchy" jokes can sometimes be disturbingly violent, which is the joke. Bottom line is the show is normally rated TV-PG DLV. Ages 9+. 5/5 stars. Fun for the whole family. Enjoy.

Appropriate but Not
The Simpsons is Okay. The swear word are used in a Dumb manner. Itchy and scratchy is the worst part. The Show is TV-PG and 8 episodes Were TV-14. Would have been 7 if the FCC Did not go Coo-coo for Drug use(One episode changed from TV-PG-V TO TV-14-V for that and Austraila rated it M for drug use(Weekend at Bursie's). The S content is very low. Violence is Slapstick at Most. IFFY FOR 7-8 AND The Limit is(Drumroll please)9+

The Best Show Ever
I love this show (maybe it has something to do with Jon Lovitz being on it often). My youngest has been watching it since she was a toddler (since 1992). It's very witty and great!

Mid-Childhood Apropriate
The Simpsons is fine for children that are entering the middle of their childhood. But begginer kids should not watch it.

If you've never watched The Simpsons, where the hell have you been? Over 420 episodes and 20 seasons later, The Simpsons still manages to entertain with its cast of endearing characters and satirical storylines. While the series has hit a rough patch in recent years (seasons 14-16 containing byfar the WORST episodes in the series), the quality has bounced back, bar a few mediocre episodes. The content is generally suitable for all ages, with some occasional bloody violence (usually within the context of a show-within-a-show called Itchy & Scratchy; a parody of Tom and Jerry), some innuendo, coarse language is kept to a minimum, and nudity is (almost) always obscured. Concerned parents may wish to assess individual episodes before allowing their children to watch as some episodes contain little to no objectionable content, whereas others have contained some surprisingly adult material (such as drug use and euthanasia). In short, there's plenty to love about The Simpsons, and the iffy content is usually kept to a minimum, with most episodes being suitable for kids aged 6+ with some of the iffier episodes perhaps better reserved for tweens 12 and up.

this is a pretty good show and should be fine for kids 10 and up. nothing too bad. its good but family guy (though much more adult) is a trillion times funnier and way better.

I heart the Simpsons
America needs to lighten up. The Simpsons are this generation's Father Knows Best, except in this case, the father doesn't.

The Simpsons is a fine show, for the whole family. You cant let your kids go living without knowing where Babies come from, nor can you keep secrets from them(like drinking alcohol). People say this show is stupid and you dont learn anything from it, well that's true. I dont let my kids watch T.V to learn, if i wanted them to learn i would set them up at a Table and make them read. So this show is horrible if your WAY over protective, if your not, this show will be one of your favorites.

A great show
There is sexual content and language, but the only main problem i have from the violence is that itchy and scratchy really goes to its extremes at most times (scratchy pays for bungee jumping in a volcano, itchy slices him open and pushes him off, scratchy uses his intestines to get back on the edgebut notices itchy is pouring gasolin down them, and hanging close to lava, scratchy explodes) so other than those clips, i suggest watching this show with your children, who are about 11 or older.

Funny but iffy.
Really funny show, but the sexual content can be offensive. Older episodes are usually safer.

this is an amazing show.
the the reviewer the said the simpson has stated "f***" tell me now, i have watched the simpson sence they have been on air. and i have never not a single time heard them say that word. if they had tell me that episode it was on. thatt is all i ask for. but the simpsons is an amazing show. it shows the truth. yea maybe the parents fight and get mad at each other but they end up still loving each other by the end of the show. and so wat homer has a few beers. its not like u havent. and the kids they havent done anything wrong. like bart, he pulls a few pranks here and there but doesnt do anything that horrible. finally i would like to say that this is an amazing show. and it should stay on air until the producers feel like there is no more to be told. thank you

Still going strong
It's easy to see why this show has been running for twenty years. Still, despite the fact that it's animated, it's not for young kids. Sexual innuendo is frequent, and there's partial nudity (sex scenes) in some episodes. Language is used sometimes, but it's mild. Homer and his friends drink excessively at a bar. Authority figures are incompetent, Homer is abusive, teachers smoke, and bullies beat up nerds. A lot.

It's an OK show. But it's really not as bad as you probobly think it is. Rarely do they ever say swear words. It's not that bad. Good show though. It's just getting to old.

Good show, but iffy for less-mature kids.(especially boys, who might use some lewd refrences at school.)
I'm pretty mature (I'v seen Animal House, and own the M-rated video games Call of Duty4, Halo3, and Assassin's Creed)The simpsons is iffy, without a doubt. But, for a boy/girl who understands sex and violence and drugs it can be funny, and even have a positive message (sometimes), likein the episode where they portray anti-homosexuals as idiots.(Homer thinks Bart is gay, and he freaks when he finds out, and the iron smiths, and the buff gym members are gay, and it turns out that Bart is not.)However, boys/girls who don't get it (sex) might get a little... confused and think that sex is cool, and he should talk about to make himself seem cool. They drink heavily (espicially Homer), and have a few not-so-bad swears.

Funny show with sex, language, and drugs.
I love The Simpsons because it is a really funny cartoon. However, it is really meant for adults. I am a very mature boy so I get some of the jokes, but there are some bad things in there. Homer and Marge sometimes have sex. There is some mild language in there. (Bloody, crap.) Also, Homer and other characters get drunk. Often, commercial messages like FOX come up. Once, there was SEGA and Nintendo. Mainly, it's other American TV companys. NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX are the main product placements. Overall, it is a pretty funny show, but I don't recommend it for tweens. Secondary (middle) and high school students my get some jokes, as well as adults.

The Simpsons really isn't as bad as parents think it is! I watch it really alot & it's actually sort of tame, not paying attention to background inappropriate content. Moderate language & alchohol references. Show is awesome!

Great show for ages 10 and up!!!
This show began as a show for adults, but eventually, kids began watching it. Overall, the show is funny and enjoyable. The only bad thing is the strong use of alcohol. Some of the show takes place in a bar in almost every other episode. Language is nothing to worry about. I am sure that they have heard ALOT worse.

Cartoons are Cartoons.
The Simpsons has been going on for about 20 years and hasn't had many complaints. Just think. Cartoons are cartoons. This commotion happened with Tom and Jerry, about them 'killing' each other. It's similiar, but I think the makers should use less sexual behavoir.

Common Sense rates this bad
I hate how this website says "handpicked for age 12", and then it says iffy for 12-15 year olds. So you want me (a 12 year old) to watch something that apparently is for 16 year olds?

Simpsons rules
Many parents think the Simpsons isn't for kids, and many protest that it is placed on television and the time most kids are watching. But think for a minute. Every Simpsons episode ends with a moral that a character learns (usually Homer or Bart) and there is rarely any black humour you witness in Family Guy. Simpsons episodes are becoming more cocky as time goes on, with more sexual jokes and more jokes kids either don't understand or shouldn't hear. But in the end, Simpsons is a fairly harmless show kids love to watch.

Great Show for late pre-teens and up. The sex scenes are not very graphic and are not very common in most episodes. Most shows are on for ages 8 and over but others are slighty more mature. There is also some cartoon violence between Homer and Bart and Homer offen goes to the bar and is an alcholic. Some epsiodes have drugs in them and as for the language crap is as strong as it gets. The TV-14 is harsh I would say more TV-PG.
