Good action for boys. I like the tie to history. There's also a series of books, so because my son likes the show he also likes reading the books.

Great Show & Great Books!
My kids discovered the TV series before I discovered the book series....now they are hooked on both! It has interesting historical people & facts, that doesn't bore kids (or adults!) My boys enjoy watching this & I will often sit & watch with them. There is some mild violence at times, (nothing too scary) & an occasional name-calling, but it is much milder than many other "popular" shows. Plus, it's educational!
