    My Sence

Ugly Betty is a TV series that has become well known. It’s not like a soap opera, which are usually dull and boring. Ugly Betty has a story line that’s interesting to its viewers. It’s about a girl who isn’t about beauty or popularity; it’s about how she cares more for others then herself. It inspires viewers and sends a point of how it’s ok to just be you. Most of the actors bring heart and soul to their character. They bring their characters to life. With the new drama series Ugly Betty, once you start watching it you just cant stop. The talented actress Ferrera, plays the part of Betty. In this series the other actors become jealous of Betty because she is likeable. Betty is very determined and hard working because she knows she needs her job and that’s because her father relies on her income. Betty is a character that plays a “nerd” that works in a magazine firm that they call Mode. Betty is the assistant to the editor in chief, Daniel Meade. Daniel wants to fire Betty in the first few eppisodes but sence he cant, he tries to humiliate Betty to get her to quit. Soon he realizes he needs her help to run the magazine. This series has some suspense, drama and is comical. In the premiere Gina Gershon plays the parts of an Italian fashion diva who is divorced and has a son. This series is based on the materialistic world of a high-fashion magazine.

    Best Show on T.V.

Ugly Betty is laugh-out-loud funny and always has a moral lesson. Betty often faces tough choices, has to draw on inner strength, or showcase her quirky smarts. What I most appreciate about this show is that the smart, hardworking, creative, kind character always comes out on top -- rather than the rich or pretty one. Delightfully refreshing!

    I love this show!

For the exact reason that others don't want their kids to see it, I think it's essential for kids to see this show. Why? Every time the show comes on, my six year old says "They just call her ugly betty, but really she's beautiful!" This show, more than most others on the tv today, can teach tolerance. No matter what others do, Betty stays true to herself, and affects those around her in a positive way. She doesn't care if you're gay, black, white, hispanic, male, female, transvestite (one character had a sex change!), she will still, ALWAYS, give you more than a second chance. My daughter and I watch the show together. It gives us a chance to talk about things on her level. Last night, when Daniel "lost" to his sister, he went to a bar to drink. My daughter was able to voice her opinions of drinking, and we were able to talk about the reasons the character was drinking, and what has changed to the character to make him think he needed to do that again. When his brother returned from the "dead" as a woman, it gave us an opportunity to talk about different people and the mean ways that some people treat others in this world. All in all, a great show that helps teach social tolerance on a level that no one else has managed to do before!

    a

I love this show. I watch with my 13-year-old daughter, and we both love it. Betty is so strong to stay working at the fashion magazine, not exactly being a model herself. But I do wish there could be just a little less sex in it.

This show has a good underlying message

I like the show and so do both of my kids. I don't like the language and definitely all the sexual inuendos. I don't think the word B---h and whore is used in the work place all the time like in this show. I like that Betty rises above all of that and doesn't fall to the peer pressure. Those are the qualities I want my kids to learn about. Those are the parts of the show we focus on as a family while watching. I wish the show could be cleaned up.

A Must Watch! Funny, exciting, suspensful

Great Actors and Actresses! So funny and cute. I love Betty's dad, he is great at making us all laugh. Selma is my favorite actress! America, where have you been? Keep up the great work.... this show deserves to be in the top TEN!

    I enjoyed watching this

I really did enjoy this show. Interesting that Salma Hayek is involved-I like how she 'sneaks' herself into the telenovela shown within the show.

    TOO MUCH SKIN

I watched Ugly Betty for the first time last night and had very high hopes for it being a nice show with a strong moral lesson tinged with comedy and was extremely disappointed when it became obvious that the TV networks can't resist putting sex and too much flesh in even this show. The bedroom scene with the couple obviously just finishing having sex and the woman in the teeny tiny underwear who flashes her lover as she is leaving was not necessary and completely innapropriate for prime time viewing. The moral here is that Network Television can't be trusted to keep even sitcoms with a lesson to teach flesh free.

    A great tv show!

I love Ugly Betty! Every episode is different, Betty is a strong woman with a positive attitude. There isn't that much bad language, b----,a--,crap, and many other mild swears. Some characters have questionable motives, and will do anything to get what they want. I recommend it for mature teens 12 and older, because of some language or some episode plots. But other than that, Ugly Betty is a fun tv show about a New York Fashion magazine.

Great for Middle Schoolers and Older

Ugly Betty has a great message, with the main character being successful with her brains and personality, not her looks, even though she works at a fashion magazine. I know this show has some iffy material concerning sex, and the way Betty's coworkers treat her. I think we should be able to look past this though, since Betty handles criticism well, and none of the sex is graphic, and a lot of the jokes and sexual material I don't understand as a 14 year old, even though I know that it's there.

Ugly betty (thought the title is offensive) has so many great qualities to it. All the actrors play their characters beautiffly, and fit them so well. It always makes me laugh at the most random times. All kids 10 and up could watch the show, just because they would get it.

This show portrays a big-hearted woman, who is totally out of place. She is unattractive yet beautiful on the inside. Characters are so hilarious and some them you just love to hate so much. You'll see that Betty has to go through a lot working at a superficial fasion magazine, and you cannot help but root for her. Also the other superficial charcters, no matter how mean, cruel, or demeaning they are, you realize that they go through similar obstacles. The sex is pretty iffy, some episodes its heavy, some you'll only see a kiss. Kids 15 and up should watch this, but watch out for a lot of bad examples and awfull language.
