Cyclops, Jean Gray, Wolverine and more. In X-MEN: EVOLUTION, mutants are an underclass that are always on the verge of persecution. The centerpiece of each half hour show is usually a good versus evil battle with the mutants taking the good side.

You don't have to scratch too far below the surface of this show to get to the real messages of the need to understand those who look different -- that just because someone looks weird doesn't mean that he or she doesn't have his or her own super powers. The mutants are sympathetic and exist as a higher moral order even though they are often shown as fallible.

It's great for kids to see the message of tolerance but the show definitely gets their attention through its numerous and very pyrotechnic battle scenes. Young kids won't be scared but will miss the nutrient values you will be able to discuss with your older ones.
