Great program for expanding minds

This educational program is just what we need in today's society. Less pseudoscience based on religion and more actual science based on scientific evidence that actually follows the scientific method. In the past few years there has been surge in religion based politics passing or trying to pass laws based on beliefs rather than actual facts.

Informative for adults, I watched the whole season already!

It's more for adults, I enjoy it, there is some humor and important and time appropriate problems are addressed and examined with science. Very interesting , in that we really don't know what's happening around us, this show shines light on these very issues. Cant wait for season 2 on Dec 29, 2017. Go Bill!

It’s garbage

Need to take politics out of science. The song in the first episode was painful to listen to. I honestly felt embarrassed for him. It’s garbage.

Poignantly one-sided and opinionated, though essentially logical

This is definitely not a show about straight science, though it technically doesn't attempt to say that it is. "Saves The World" is more of a show about discussion of usually contemporary issues that, though controversial, usually end up being decided by Bill Nye with his beliefs. Not to say, of course, that his beliefs are unfounded, and many of his conjectures can be technically proven with observation or science (which he usually points out). A controversial note he has made is focusing on human sexuality being on a spectrum: this is technically true (from a college-level biology class) but is not what audiences where expecting to come up on the show. Still, many of his topics tend to have bias against the majority human subclass in favor of the minority. This is sometimes taken into extreme territories; he once briefly suggested in a discussion that first-world countries (esp. white people) should have restrictions on number of children due to their carbon footprint being statistically significantly larger and thereby encouraging greenhouse gas emissions (this is technically true on that point, but IMHO extremely flawed). Granted, this claim was argued, with 2 of the 3 other participants going against it on grounds of basic human rights, but it does go to hint at how his poignant opinions can be extreme if uncontrolled. Anyways, I'd say 15+ would be fine for this show. I do not believe younger children should have unregulated access to Bill Nye's new works (in contrast to the 1990's ones) and believe it can do more harm than good if everything the show has released was available (including "Ice Cream Sexuality" and "My Sex Junk"). Plus, if the parents are not attune to the political opinions, the answer is obviously very different.

Disrespectful and Promiscuous

I remember watching Bill Bye as a little girl and loving the science tidbits the show got me excited about. However, this new angle is truly appalling and very unscientific. Maybe he and Netflix have decided philosophy is the cool new thing. I, like many people, could not get past the "My Sex Junk" segment... Truly I learned nothing from that song except that, according to Bill and Rachel Bloom, it's ok to have sex whenever, wherever, and with whomever I choose--even if they don't consent. Apparently the whole idea was that "gender" is fluid and on a spectrum. Somehow, the creators of the show seem to have forgotten that biological sex *is* still "either or"... Furthermore, I know of no parent who would advocate that their child under 13 (or maybe 18?) view the sexual dance moves combined with openly promiscuous lyrics, whether or not they agreed with the supposed underlying message.

Bill Nye was my most favorite guy growing up

This is coming from someone who was a true follower and fan of Bill Nye growing up. It's sad to see him do shows that are such garbage. It's political, biased, and missing something ... oh that would be "science". The worse one that I watched was a guy trashing on races. He would yell out "white people stop this" "asians stop that".... I thought we were past this race card? Or does it only apply to one group? How about getting back to facts, science and leaving out politics.

I watched every episode of his original show, Bill Nye The science guy, and I have to say this is an amazing upgrade. The fact that he is commenting on all of the issues of the world today, comforts me and informs me. If you think you aren't up to date or informed about any political and social news, WATCH THIS SHOW!!

This is a great way to inform your 17 year olds and up about the ever-changing science of everything! In Bill Nye's new show, he brings up important social and political topics and debunks or explains them. I highly recommend this show to anyone who needs to get informed! Inform your children and the millennials!

The Death of my Role Model

I tried to give it a chance but it was all over by episode 9... It ripped apart my heart with every gyrating pelvis to watch one of my role models, who got me interested in pursuing science through school and having a career in biological science, willingly push this propaganda enforces p.c. nonsense. Does this show have a great message? This show isn't about science, it's about force feeding a flawed ideology over reality through passive aggressiveness platitudes and guilt shaming any white or male individual. Opinions are not welcome unless you submit to theirs; this means abandoning science and reality. Great Role Models? Bill Nye was a great role model until this show came about. Look for his older show "Bill Nye the Science Guy" on old dvd's because the series on Netflix purposely removed segments that were not P.C. most notably the one about defining gender in our chromosomes. Other guests are Hollywood actors just reading a teleprompter, actors I have enjoyed in their art but nothing worthy of a role model work here. Everyone on the show is either a walking talking robot or a token "comedian" talking about how awful things are because of whites. Too Much Violence? Nothing is actually violent here, but it could use some. Too much sex? Episode 9. By all means, if you want minors engaging in sex and using anything around them as a sex toy this is your show. Too Much Swearing? No real swearing but again episode 9 was very 18+ Too Much Consumerism? Yes but not the kind you want. There is too strong of an agenda being pushed onto the audience, the "SJW, Liberal*, P.C." type of message. Its not even if you don't full hardheartedly believe their opinions but if you dare try to challenge or question one of their beliefs you deserve ridicule and should be ignored and shunned. Very unscientific for a science show. I don't mean to get too political but the " * " on Liberal is needed because the definition of liberal does not apply to this new wave. Lets just be clear, I am considered a minority as well as a liberal, so this is criticism not some ignorant political bashing. Drinking/Drugs/Smoking Not an issue here really just like violence. Overall. This is a heartbreaking show for any one who respected Bill Nye. I never thought I would see the day when science and reality is purposely thrown out for an extremely flawed and ignorant ideology geared towards children and teens. This is definitely a pass, save yourself the time and go to amazon and order some dvds of "Bill Nye the Science Guy" if you're looking for a science show designed to inspire new growing scientific minds.

This show displays Bill Nye as a scientist and entertainer, not just a chuldren's TV host. Heavy hitting scientific topics right out the gate, interesting segments on an array of topics that come up in everyday middle and high schools. Some parts of the show are clearly for goofs and should be taken much less seriously than other reviewers have spat on. For full comprehension and appreciation I would rate this show typically 16+ but kids are much smarter than given credit for and 14+ is completely reasonable.
