Really, parents and kids?

Really? 18+? People are SO overprotective of children these days. CSM is right, this show deserves it's expert rating. I mean, Bill Nye is a role model to children and he explains science in a fun and enjoyable way. His new show (this) is for teens, and I think that teens should watch this to learn something new. Science is fun! But oh - what's this? You are concerned with the sexual content in Episode 9? Simple answer - just skip it! Or if you don't want to, it could teach your teen about why sexuality is important, and the risks of what will happen if you have sex. Sexuality is science! It's BIOLOGY, not PROPAGANDA. Besides, your teen hears a lot about all that dumb stuff by friends and the internet and maybe they are already watching ****. There are some drug references - about cocaine and heroin and some other drugs. But Bill also teaches why you should NOT take them, and how it impacts you. Overall, sexual bits aside - I'd give this show a 4/5 and a 13+ rating for sexual references, drug references and some language.

Maybe I'm biased, as I thought the original show was godawful, but I would rather eat glass than watch anything that Bill Nye is involved in.

A really great advance in Bill Nye’s career

What so many people on this sight are obviously confused about is that this show is not targeted at elementary schoolers and this is not the same Bill Nye’s the science guy you might have watched in 2nd grade. This is a talk show that has science themes and it is targeted at an older audience that’s why if you look in the audience it’s a bunch of 20 year olds not mothers with their 6 year olds. That’s just something important to keep in mind when reviewing this. As for the hobophobic comments and people worried about this show brain washing children, maybe try to stop being blinded by ignorance. Don’t blame Bill for the fact that you can’t realize everything is not black and white. Love is love and you don’t have the right to tell people who they are of that who they think are is incorrect.

Terrible

In this low budget show, Bill Nye isn't talking about science anymore, he's talking about his biased political/atheistic opinions. Bill Nye has certainly killed his career. Just listen to the horrible song on his show, "My Sex Junk". The lyrics in there mention, sexual material such as anal sex and orgies. Common Sense Media, really?! You're going to give this garbage three stars and 13+?! I wouldn't show this to my friends, let alone my parents!

Great for Teens (But Older I Repeat Older Teens)

This show was great to watch as a 14 year old! It reminds me of the old Bill Nye The Science guy show, but less cheesy, and covers important world issues we face today like global warming and other problems. It is incredibly important for teenagers like me to understand the world as we know it for how it is, and this show both educates on these topics, as well as clears up fuzzy or unclear topics we might have been concerned about. This is definitely a good show to watch if you like the fun style of Bill Nye, but also want a grown up perspective on the world based on science! There was one episode that was really bad however, and that was the sex episode. It had a song in it called "sex junk" that was not only a sorry attempt and being funny, but inappropriate, weird, and incredibly uncomfortable for both teen and adult. That one episode was my only complaint, and I would just skip that one. The rest are great though!

CSM is significantly downplaying the sex/language

As others have mentioned, there is a segment in the show entitled "My Sex Junk" which goes far beyond just basic scientific discussion of human sexuality. The lyrics are mostly innuendo, but could provide some awkward questions ("Mom, what's a Fleshlight?"). The song also features the lyric "Sex how you want, it's your goddamn right!", which will offend some people more then the sexual content.

Bill Nye has lost his mind and my respect...

I am surprised at what a high rating Common Sense Media has given this repulsive, degenerate show. This website must have a liberal bias, because Bill Nye Saves the World is pure leftist propaganda. Bill Nye used to be a funny guy and a good role model. He actually taught REAL science, but now all he does is lie about sexuality and gender. The show is also aimed towards millennials, so of course, it has a horrible pop/rap song. It's called "Sex Junk" and it's completely inappropriate and disgusting. Don't let your kids watch this show unless you want them brainwashed, and don't watch this show yourself unless you want to ruin your childhood.

Disappointing for someone who was taught science on the originals

I am barely old enough to remember Bill Nye treaching lots of science to me in primary school, and was exited to see he would come back in 2017 for a more mature audience. What I did not expect, or want, was Bill's condescension. He talks down on those against climate change and vaccines so bad that even though i actually agree with him on these issues it was hard to watch. Bill does bring a couple of opponents on the show, but shuts them down and barely lets them talk. The format is also...strange. Bill acts like a talk show host rather than explain science. Perhaps the Science Guy should be....sciencing? The sexuality episode was bad. Not even much science that i remember, just him pushing a combination of gender and sex spectrums and license. (Bill was quite weak on the facts here, and it really just seemed more like some kind of political activism he didnt quite achieve) Perhaps at least a 3 dot level for sex would have been better, 50% due to the segment an adult linked to. Summarized: Bill Nye and Netflix failed in an attempt to bring the Science Guy back by being far too political and condescending, awkwardly designed, and a truly terrible episode 9. The CSM reviewer did a terrible job reviewing this show.
