ok. 14+ is harsh. I watch it with my mother, and I started watching it when I was 9 or 10. I love Buddy and his family, and I love the cakes that they make. I admit I have heard buddy use the not so bad f word, but he never has said Bad words. at least, I have never heard him say that. he has said H and D, but who, at an adult age, dose not say that? and f? seriously? that is not that bad. Common Sense, you either need to loosen up, or the parents do. I would rate Cake Boss PG and for ages 9+ ( or whatever you would let your child watch.)
It's a great show. My kids adore it and it shows the behind the scenes and how to problem solve. Language can occasionally be an issue, but they hear far worse on TV and in films.
Fun reality show for the whole family to watch together
We have a lot of fun watching this show together. I am surprised to see Common Sense give it a 14+ rating!!! But in our house violent shows and sexy shows get a worse rating than they tend to get on here. Iffy language? Not so much a big deal.
It's a great watch for any high school culinary arts student. A few setbacks are the language (On the episode where a bride ruins Buddy's all-ivory wedding cake with calla lillies, he calls the destructive client a PITA.) and the consumerism. For the latter, the it stems from a few of the cakes (the St. Joseph Children's Hospital in NJ, near where I was born) and the fondant. (They use Satin Ice and you can clearly see the brand logos on the tubs - look for the cursive script in the ovals because that's their logo!) I recommend this to any budding cake decorator or pastry fan!
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY IS IT THAT THE WOMEN ONLY DO THE DECORATING AND NOT THE BAKING. THE NEW CAKE BOSS WINNER WAS A WOMAN AND HE PUTS HER TO DECORATE. HE GIVE HER A HARD TIME AND DIDN'T GIVE LAST YEAR (A MAN) WINNER A HARD TIME.
honestly i watch this show for the amazing cakes they make. it's interesting to see how they make it and the end product which makes me always go, 'wow!'. I can only dream to make the stuff they do, i'd love to be able to learn how to though. A must see for anyone who enjoys making pastaries or cake decorating.
