Funny and Intelligent
My 11 year old loves watching this show with me and his dad. Yes, sometimes the banter goes over his head, but if he doesn't understand something, he asks about it. I think we have to assume that our kids are intelligent people who want intelligent humor (along with their regular helping of potty humor) and I see no harm in them watching this show.

Hilarious
This is the greatest tv show of all time. It is a very funny and highly educational political/social satire that all teens and adults should watch. There is mild language usually used 0-4 times in each episode, and depending on what has been in the news lately, there can be some sexual discussion, but none of the content is anywhere near what kids hear at school and on other shows and in music these days, so encourage your child to watch it.

Very quirky & amusing
I happen to love this show...very quirky & intelligent but it's really not for kids unless a parent is around.

Steven Colbert is a comedic genius~
It's a great show; very funny, especially Colbert himself. The show is pretty silly, yet it's hilarious. I watch it every weeknight with my mom, who also loves it. Probably not a show for kids under 12; while the show isn't ridiculously graphic (bleeped out curse words and occasional sexual remarks) it's likely younger kids won't understand the humor. I love the show and I adore Colbert.

Hilarious!
This show is really funny, however a lot of kids my age don't care because of the political aspects of it. However, it is appropriate for anyone 13 and up, although it really depends on the episode. I've seen ones that were completly clean, and others that my mom almost made me turn off. You just never know. (But if you want to check to see if your kids can watch it, they rerun last nights episode at 10:30, 2:30 and 8:30)
