What Parents Need to Know

About Criminal Minds

Parents need to know that this crime series contains some very realistic violence, and many characters are frequently dealing with a lot of emotional distress. There aren't a large number of on-screen deaths, but characters have been seen begging for their lives -- which can be equally troubling. Some of the killers are sexual predators.

    • Good role models

"Mom, I want to grow up and be just like Hotch!"

My husband, my kids, and I watch this show all the time. We really enjoy seeing the team work together to catch someone. My kids have said many times "I want to grow up and be just like J.J." or "I'm going to work really hard so I can be the boss of a great team like Agent Hotchner." I really like the show and I tihnk it really gives you a good look at some of the darker sides of our reality.

    this is my show!

i am beyond hooked to this show! it is a little too graphic for kids because it pretty much doesn't hold back with crime scenes and descriptions of the murders. but if your an adult who loves reading or watching about killers, murderers, or just enjoys a good mystery show, indule yourself in this show!

    Awesome show... Kinda intense.

Okay, can be very intense. I like the whole intellectual nature of it, though. My grandparents think it's going a little too far and dislike some of the recent episodes, But I like that the team really works together and has a kind of family dynamic. The idea that you need each other to get through the tough times.
