My Problem with this Review
This review has some aspects that I don't agree with. Danny Phantom is less violent than A LOT of stuff in T.V. nowadays, and A LOT more entertaining. Honestly, I don't think this show is very violent. It came out when I was six, and even though the slightest thing scared me back then, I enjoyed it. I only remember being a bit scared during The Ultimate enemy (TUE) and that was only once. I DO recall a couple death threats, but those are very rare, and this IS a cartoon about a superhero! Torture? Wrong. The only thing I've seen is electric shocks for a few seconds, and I've seen every episode at least twice! I do recall a knife, and it was never used. There has been only one sword fight, and that only lasted about ten seconds, and no one was hurt. Violence towards women? So if a ghost is trying to destroy the world, and Danny attempts to stop it, there's a problem if it's a female? The men and women are treated equally by all characters. If the ghost attacks, Danny captures it and sends it back into the Ghost Zone wheather it's female or not. You're right about one thing. There IS no opportunity to work things out. That's because some ghost is trying to kill someone!! If some guy was about to kill you, and you have no weay to escape, would you smile and say "We can work this out, buddy!", or would you fight back!? Something that you wondered about is why Danny hides his powers from his parents, because they are paranormal experts. That's true, but you missed something. His parents want to DESTROY ghosts they capture. They're his parents, but Danny's a kid. Put yourself into a kid's frame of mind. He knows that they love him, but he's still afraid that they might only see him as a ghost. Everyone's mind goes through the worst case scenario, and his seems too likely. Danny is different in his phantom form because he obviously feels more confident. No one knows who he is, and he can use many different powers. It's similar to how I'm talkative at home because I'm sure that people will listen but I'm not in public places. A weird comparison, but it'll do. To quote "Ultimately, the show suffers for giving into the violent mainstream." I don't believe this. Haven't you noticed how many kids shows seem too afraid to even be close to violent, and instead market towards little kids? I believe that Danny Phantom is a step in the right direction. Many people believe that cartoons are for kids only, but by adding more action and less mind numbing silliness, less people would have this opinion. Danny Phantom took that risk, and that's what made it so popular! Plus, you need to give kids more credit! Some kids may be scared, but most aren't. Do you think that the only thing kids enjoy is silliness without a plot? You're wrong! I was reading complicated chapter books when I was 7, and watching nothing but Animal Planet when I was five!!! In short, this show isn't that violent, you has false points in your review, and kids are smarter than you thin. Now, I shall leave this site that encourages age descrimination.

A really funny show with action
One of my favorite cartoons, Danny is one of the kids that normally get picked on at school (even though he could use his new ghost powers to hurt the school bully- he rarely doesn't) Sam is a strong indivisual, refuses to be pushed around. She's also rich (but doesn't tell anyone that even though that could make her 'popular' -though she couldn't care less) Tucker is a brainy guy (also African American) and he's a flirt. Both of his friends support Danny and are always there for him (and a lot of times ending up suffering punishement with Danny) His parents are ghost hunters (very bad at it) but they are very loving, and through most of the show unaware of Danny's ghost powers. Jazz (his sister) can be a knowitall, but she cares about Danny and she is strict about her grades. Anyway, there is violence, but not anyhow serious. And nobody actually dies (ghosts can't for one) and the show is very well written. Danny crushes on a girl named Paulina (which hardly acknoleged his existence by instead looking at herself in the mirror) and Sam at times could get jealous. Besides rare kisses, that's all the sexuality in the show (unless you count their moms tight ghost fighting suit, and Sam's belly is showing) It's one of the best shows on Nickelodeon.. well, was. I don't know exactly WHY they'd get rid of it (maybe cuz the series is over)? Anyway, allow it, its a really fun show.

Nice concept with ghost
Written on 02/11/11 This show is okay, personally I don't like the potty humor, and I think Danny's okay. Sometimes it seems as if they were trying to make him like Spider-Man because 1. He can sense danger (but it's cool) and 2. He makes a lot of puns (cheesy ones, though). I like the concept of ghost (for some reason they say he's a ghost instead of a phantom) and the ghost world. Violence is typical, cartoon violence. Sex is just flirting/little kissing. It's a show that tween boys' probably like

This show is awesome! I loved it! I've been watching it all day. When I was little I had a crush on Danny. This show is not to violent or scary. I have 3 little sisters and they love this show. I never noticed any type of sexism in this show, women are treated equally. Sam is a strong independent character who doesn't care what people think. I wish it was still on!

It's Alright
I used to think this show was funny and exciting, I still can get through it. But it's just not me now, that I'm older. My dad thought it was a bit funny. I'm glad he watches all my stupid shows with me like BTR, and iCarly. It's fun. But I don't like this.

Great show!
One) Danny doesn't get more aggressive in his ghost mode. He's more confident and has cool powers that he uses to stop some punk ghosts from killing him.Who wouldn't fight back if you had powers and some ghosts were trying to kill you! Two) THERE IS NO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN THIS SHOW, WOMEN HERE ARE TREATED EQUALLY. Three) Death threats are rare and made towards Danny of course. Knifes aren't used as weapons. Four) Danny does have a freaking imbetween! When he first fights Vlad he clearly states at the beginning, " I don't want to fight you," You obviously haven't seen more than one episode of this show so you're in no possession to tall!

This is a fun show to watch. I remember watching it when I was little, and it became an instant classic for me. I suggest watching this show because it will grow on you. I would like for Nick to come to it's senses too, because rebooting this show would be a good business strategy.

Oh, the memories...
I think this show helped me to be who I am today- no joke. I started watching this show right at the start at age 6. I didn't find the show that violent then, but then again I'm not a parent. The characters are great rolemodels. Danny and Tucker are your typic high school nerds, and are picked on by the jocks. Danny can be a bit thick headed at times, Tucker is a flirt and is a bit jealous of Danny's ghost powers, and Sam is an individualist goth. While this may seem like a turn off for some parents, I think it kind of helps kids jump start to what the real world is like, because they will have to deal at some point. Romance isn't that bad- Danny and Tucker are infatuated by one girl, Paulina, and Sam's jealous. There is the occasional "fake-out make-out," but again nothing too serious for the 7+ age. The only time where the kissing is 'real' is in the final episode, Phantom Planet. This show also has a bit of humor to it, which is cliche enough to be funny. Overall, I think this show is a must watch for kids 7 and up, and you can access episode via youtube or megavideo, since Nick abandoned the show long ago.

My Favorite Show as a Little Kid!
When I was little,I watched this show 24/7 I know, I'm a geek. Anyways, gosh, it is not too violent. It's about a ghost fighting ghost-kid! Of course, when you hear that, you're going to expect there to be a little "violence". Oh, Vlad might scare some little kids! ;)
