Deals on the Bus
What’s the Story?
DEALS ON THE BUS follows along as prospective home buyers go on a series of bus tours put on by real estate agents who are attempting to sell "bargain" houses in a down market. Many are quite grand -- and the reason that so many of them are selling for far below earlier prices is that they're bank-owned (i.e. foreclosures). Is It Any Good?
If you love looking at homes for sale, you'll love this show. It's all about the houses, which is why the grander ones seem to be featured. The individual buyers' stories are interesting, but they really don't say much of importance. There is an element of sadness in that the reason that many of the homes are selling for less than half of their previous value is because of the troubled economy.
That said, for those who have been waiting to buy, this is an ideal time -- and the show reflects that hopefulness, not to mention the confidence that prices will, eventually, go up again.
