What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Don't Forget the Lyrics, a game show reboot of the 2007 series, features folks singing and recalling song lyrics in hopes of winning a major cash prize. The overall series is family friendly, but there are some suggestive lyrics and occasional mild innuendo, most of which will fly over young kids' heads. Tweens may like it, but probably won't recognize most of the songs featured throughout the show.

What's the Story?
DON'T FORGET THE LYRICS (2022), a reboot of the 2007 series of the same name, features contestants singing 10 songs in hopes of winning cash. Hosted by Niecy Nash, it spotlights players choosing from a list of music genres, and then singing a song from that category while looking at its lyrics on screen. When words to the song suddenly go missing, the contestant must fill in the blanks with the correct lyrics. If successful, they move up on a ladder of potential winnings. Those who make it through the fourth round are given the option of walking away with money, or risking it all in hopes of winning a larger amount. Anyone who misses a lyric during the competition goes home empty handed. Contestants who make it to the 10th song and remember the lyrics win a $1 million prize.
Is It Any Good?
The upbeat series features folks hoping to recall and sing song lyrics in hopes of earning some money. Like its 2007 predecessor, this version of Don't Forget the Lyrics features fun musical performances by contestants singing songs from a wide range of musical genres and performers. As folks choose whether or not to take major risks in hopes of banking the largest money prize they can, it generates enough tension to keep you watching. Meanwhile, viewers who choose to sing along may enjoy that the overall process is much harder than it seems. Fans of the original series won't be disappointed, while new generations of game show enthusiasts may find it worth tuning into.
