This show and its tv movies could be so much better. The premise is great, the characters are likable- at least Freddie, Carly, and Spencer are, but Sam really needs to be toned down.
This is one of her worst "episodes," by which I meant **violent outbursts.** While Sam beats a dinosaur, FREDDIE is forced to rub ice on a grown male's bare belly- I enjoy awkward comedy enough to see a vague, twisted shade of humor, but I am also conscious enough to realize when it's inappropriate. This is NOT just a "humorous uncomfortable scenario" and should not be written into tween comedy. Kind of obvious why a tween should not be touching an grown man's bare ANYWHERE- whether he is a stranger or family- UNACCEPTABLE.
Other concerns are obnoxious, gross behavior- I was once a kid. I was both obnoxious and gross, and I enjoyed gross tv, and I know kids enjoy it as well, so I let this part slide- that's just normal good kid stuff.
My kids are under age ten, and my oldest two enjoy this show, but even they thought Sam's bullying behavior was over the top, and the first time they acknowledged it was when they saw iCarly Saves TV. Fortunately, my kids are pretty bright, and they have decided on their own that they don't care much for Sam. They loved the show in its beginning, but their interest has declined, and she is actually their least favorite part of the show.
My daughter loves this show and as a responsible parent I have sat down and watched episodes with her to make sure there are no inappropriate things going on. The characters show the diversity of personality and the power of a good influence. Carly is a responsible, well rounded young lady who is a positive role model for her friends. Sam could tone it down a bit as she can be a little aggressive and negative but that is where Carly comes in with the positive. There are no sexually inappropriate comments or actions. No foul language. It is one of the better shows on tv for my daughter.
Carly is a very responsible young lady who lives with her older brother while dad is stationed overseas. She is a good student and friend, and she tries to inspire her friend Sam to be a good kid too. She and Sam are like the odd couple. While it's a bit unrealistic to think that a freshman would be left alone with her older brother, it makes for a funny show.
THey do use some language that I don't want my 6 yr old using, but nothing real bad. LOVE the show. watch it with my child daily...he thinks its the greatest ever.... carly and sam is the best role models and friends,,, and they help to try to keep sam out of trouble and show her the right way
I do not like the way the "Sam" character treats her friends. The big brother does not act like a grown up at all. I think it gives the wrong message, but Daughter likes the show and it does give us the chance to talk about the content and the feelings of others.
