What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this short-form Disney reality series follows the ultra-popular Jonas Brothers on their first nationwide tour, giving fans a glimpse of how the guys prepare for concerts and spend their free time. There's no content here to concern parents of the band's many fervent tween fans, who will enjoy the backstage pass and may be surprised -- and pleased -- to learn that the stars place strong importance on family time, education, and healthy lifestyles. As reality TV goes, this is as squeaky-clean as they come, though it could spark new/increased interest in the band in any tweens who aren't already avid fans.

Positive messages: The brothers come across as refreshingly humble and level-headed, and they often credit their parents for their well-rounded upbringing. Throughout the series, they emphasize positive behavior like staying healthy through diet and exercise, spending time with family, and giving something back to the communities they visit.
Violence & scariness: Not applicable.
Sexy stuff: Nothing suggestive, but lots of scenes show adoring young female fans screaming and crying over the brothers.
Language: Not applicable.
Consumerism: The Jonases -- already a huge brand themselves -- get plenty of exposure from the show. They often carry Starbucks beverages, though the logo is usually partially obscured. A few scenes show them shopping for shoes and clothes and discussing what styles are "cool."
Drinking, drugs, & smoking: Not applicable.

What to talk about

Talk to your kids
Families can talk about fame. How did the Jonases get so famous in the first place? And how do they respond to their celebrity? Do they seem to enjoy it, or would they rather shun the spotlight? How do you think you would feel if you were as famous as they are? How do we treat stars? How do we react to them when they make mistakes? Is it fair to hold celebs to different standards than we have for "regular" people? What, if any, are the drawbacks to being well-known?

What's the story?

What's the story?
In JONAS BROTHERS: LIVING THE DREAM, cameras tag along with rockers Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas on their first nationwide concert tour. The short-form reality series gives fans a look at what the guys' lives are like at work and at play, following them as they burn off performance jitters with indoor sky diving lessons, finalize plans for a show, hang out with friends after a concert, and try to lead relatively normal lives despite their superstardom.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

This reality series will appeal to fans' curiosity with its coveted behind-the-scenes glimpse at the pop stars' lives, and there's no reason for parents to fret over their tweens tuning in. These brothers are known for being all-around nice guys, and the show is as squeaky-clean as they are. At nearly every turn, the rockers demonstrate that their success is built on a foundation of strong family ties (they often credit their parents for keeping them grounded), education, healthy lifestyles, and civic mindedness.

It's unavoidable that the series will serve as a marketing tool for Jonas Brothers merchandise and music, and the talented siblings are sure to win over plenty of new fans with their charm and charisma (those shaggy locks don't hurt, either). But it's clear that the show's intent is to entertain fans, which it does in a surprisingly feel-good, non-commercialized way.

Yes, but is there anything I DIDN'T already know?
Disney Channel has been so over-saturated with Jonas Brothers paraphernalia that this is hardly anything new or particularly fun; the boys are not good actors (I don't care for their singing, either), and no matter how charming their sincerity is, it just. Isn't. Interesting.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I think it's rather boring, always hearing bout' them 'living the dream' I'm happy for them, but I don't want a show ALL about them on. I'm sorry but I don't really care about where they go, what food they eat, or what clothes they wear. To me their singing is HORRIBLE too.

Jonas Jonas Jonas, anything better on?
Some lines are actually pretty funny, and my favorite character is Kevin, it's just they're singers, not actors, when they act. . to put it delicatly it isn't very well. ( By the way, I do not like much of there music ) The biggest issue with me is that in every thing they do, they are famous and being chanced by mobs of adoring fans! Like in Camp Rock, famous, Jonas, famous! Other wise, its a tad cute, but not something I'd watch 24-7, or even an hour.

Interesting and Entertaining, Younger Children Won't Find It As Pleasing As Olders
Great show and enjoyed it lots! Watched every minisode. The positive role models are definetly the entire Jonas family, just wonderful people with purity rings, love, and closeness of their family. I highly admire that and it is the center of this show. The message is fabulous, all about family and staying together. That's what's fabulous. My only concern is the avid consumerism, which can be easily overlooked. Wonderful show that you should watch with families!

ahhh..the jo bros
I truly despise the jo bros..they make me gag! Then they go and put their little 2 minute show in the way of tv..its just wrong..You know how they sing in their song Burnin up.." I'm slipping into the lava." well why can't they keep going into the lava..Okay thats mean, but still they can't sing or dance! So jo bros I give you this advice...RETIRE FROM YOUR SINGING CAREER AND GET A BETTER JOB!
