Looney Tunes is NEVER the Same Again, It Got Vicious and a Little Humorless
Other than my headline, the show is great, but it can get vicious for sensitive viewers. At least it does not blood and gore (so what, it's aimed for CHILDREN, of course there isn't any of that) that other violent cartoons (like Korgoth and Drawn Together) have. If you have a sensitive nature, don't meddle with this show or anything that has a TV-Y7 FV rating or higher. At least preschooler-oriented and TV-Y7 (no FV) series like Franny's Feet (which has NO VIOLENCE WHATSOEVER), Viva Pinata (not a lot of violence, but it's rated TV-Y anyway *Gag*), and Squirrel Boy are safe for those with sensitive natures.
It has been a long time since the inception of the original Looney Tunes in the 1930s and throughout the years the originals have held. With Tiny Toons (and later Animaniacs) there was brief revival of revival of the old LT brand of humor. However, that was going on 15 years ago and now it seems that there is little chance of a true revival. Loonatics Unleashed as it stands is not a revival and due to the widening generational gap I doubt that the originals are much affected by these relatively generic knock-offs. This is not to say that the show is horrid, but it is simply a very confused show that squanders much of it supposed and stated source matierial in a quest for marketability (which it apparently lost). Season One saw a much more action-oriented show with some relatively light humor whereas the second season has strayed into rather uninspired action comedy which poorly pantomimes many of the LT staples.
Overall this was a show with potential, but was resigned to become generic action/comedy fodder. Better alternatives can be found in shows like Teen Titans and, if you're looking to buy, the older Animaniacs (and Tiny Toons if they ever see a dvd release...)
