This show is kinda a phony. I mean he does tough out the harsh places. But he has about 5 people with him the whole time. And as soon as season 4 hit he was butt naked in every episode. Only the Arctic Circle is completely censored
Even though Bear Gryllis encounters some non-realistic situations, it has great survival tips. I do think he does take off his clothes too much for kids under 8 to see. Overall, it is a great show. truly for entertainment purposes in my opinion.
It's important for our survival.. but not food for the faint of heart
I've always thought it was pretty cool, that if you ever get lost you would know what to do. Sometimes his crew helps him, but usually its just to record it all, sometimes he does it himself! I know it is a little phony at times, but usually its pretty well done. I can't help but look away though has he kills animals to eat (to eat and what NOT to eat) plus its rather discusting. I like the episode when he's stuck out at sea, that was pretty awesome (not for ACTUAL people lost at sea though, that would not be fun) A lot of the places he goes is actually kinda cool, and he is trying to show what to do if you ever get stuck in the wild (some people do, a lot of people do everyday) so its really quite nessessary.
Bear taking on wilderness - Survival show good for tweens and up.
Bear Grylls and his camera crew basically survive in dangerous wildernesses such as the desert, remote island, etc.Survival is actually intresting for tweens and up, Bear is not a threat here.He teaches you how to survive in the wild, included by techniques used by special forces and information about endangered species.I love it myself and find it intresting, although when he's naked on tv, all his privates are blurred. But however, his butt is sometimes exposed which i don't think young viewers need to see.The point is, Man vs. Wild is actually a great show, i would recommend it for family but not for people aged 7 and under. So, whenever you have a chance, gather the family and learn a thing or two on Man vs. Wild.
Some things Bear Grylles does (eats live bugs, hermit crabs, termites, etc.) are gross. Though the ratings say nudity, it is very rare; I have seen a lot of Man vs. Wild episodes, and barely any have depicted nudity, and if at all, mostly just his chest. Very fascinating, and good to learn survival tips (God forbid you ever are stranded in the wilderness. Very entertaining. Good for 9+
I sort of like it but sometimes it can get alittle gross at times. But overall its an awesme show. It shows how peple can actually survive in the wild. Plus tips

ok im in hungarian boy and girl scouts and i love the survival stuff! watchin this show makes me feel prepared for the survival camp im going to this summer. the only bad thing i saw was when he was in the rocky mountains and he made a "raft" and tried floating down the river. he could have very easily broken his legs and/or gotten hypothermia. it would have been mucho safer to just follow the river down on foot and not worry about the stupid deadline he had to get out by. but i dont recommend this for little kids 12 and under. just teens and adults.
If your into nature, or adventure WATCH THIS SHOW. Bear Grylls literally risks his life several times to show you what to do in bad situations if you are ever lost in a certain environment and need to get out. He knows everything you need to know about surviving in different climates and terrain.
5 stars
not for 10 and under (some nudity)
In this show Bear Gyills get dropped from a plane onto some of natures most unforgiving terrians. He has to mingle his way out of the area before the deadline is up. He takes you thru each step and why he is doing it. This show is for the adventures type of people the show will teach many suvival technecils. Some such as etible animals and leaves and also how to find water. As he says all river most lead to sivalization at some point. He will teach you how to make fire in your surroundings. This sow may have some gross techniques but they will save you life. This show may not be apporirate for childern under 12. What it it may save your life. Look for my reviews kids and parents review you later.
