It is violent but nothing to bad, it has some cursing but is very infrequent and mild. It has ocassional nudity but never shows any private parts. Overall it is a pretty tame show thats is good for a family with children at leas 9 or older

What is Common Sense thinking? I watched this show when I was 10 and it was amazing. There is little to no sexual reference, maybe a few kisses here and there, but compared to stranger things, this is nothing. There are murders. But the show is great.

Why monk is tv-14

Parents need to know that this series includes subtle references to sex and drugs, as well as mildly violent scenes in which a murder is committed. LIKE

Love this show!

This show is good if you are looking for a good mystery show to binge watch. (Or watch at a regular speed.) This show is about Detective Adrian Monk who is a famous detective, who notices everything, creating very interesting mysteries. He has quite a traumatic life and his character is very deep. One thing before I move on is that Monk has OCD. I do not believe it is at all conveyed in a proper way. A lot of the show's humor is about how "funny"and "quirky" his phycological disorder is. His symptoms are blown out and full of stereotypes. But I still love to watch this show and I think it's best to know that it is incorrect in such aspects. That aside, the show's humor that is not based around his "strange demeanor" is very witty, ready to give you a laugh. For a few of the seasons the show is rated tv-14 instead of PG. I am not sure why this is, because the seasons don't change much. The show contains swearing. Just maybe tell kids to not repeat the words. The show also has some talk about people having affairs, which in the show is a common motive for murder. Nothing is shown on screen. There are also the parts where people are being killed. There are a few times where it could get scary for kids, it is usually during the begining part of the show were it shows the crime. So if you are concerned about that just mute the sound or cover their eyes. Nothing really gory ever happens on screen. I love this show and I look past all of the things like OCD stereotypes. This show has intriguing mysteries and great characters you learn to love. I loved the process of watching all 8 seasons. I very much recommend this show. There are many parts where tears may unexpectedly come, so be prepared. Here's the thing... Go watch this show!!!

More adult topics- but it's still a comedy. Just one thing I don't like

This show handles topics like divorce, murder, PTSD, etc. Mature teens/tweens can handle this- I absolutely love this show, hilarious and sad moments Dirty references sometimes that can go over kids heads My dad has OCD and relates to this- others might find it offensive and others might relate which is both perfectly valid. ------- The one thing I didn't like was the one transphobic comment Adrian makes towards the final episodes. This was made 20 years ago but it is still offensive.

This show is incredibly harmful

I have OCD, and this show is insanely harmful to us. In the first scene alone, the symptoms are stereotypical, ones you almost never find in a case of OCD. It pushes forms of treatment that are not helpful, but instead harmful, causing the symptoms to get stronger, and the show just clearly didn’t do it’s research, or talk to people who actually have OCD, instead basing its entire show off the misinformation spread online

love it

I think it should be 10+. There is some violence in scenes but it never lasts long and there is some cursing and definitely some blood but nothing too graphic. They probably could get away with PG but honestly it's a little bit mature for that so yeah I think you should have some degree of adult supervision I'm 11 I've been watching this a few years my parents say I can but definitely get permission before you watch things.

Come on CSM

CSM saying it is 14+ is obserd. It technically it tv-pg, but may be a little too much for kids younger than 9, including murder. There is also a little bit of romance. No language in it is insanely bad

Probably the best show I ever watched.

I love this show so much. I have watched every single episodes at least 3-4 times. The only few episodes that I didn't like were "Mr Monk bumps his head" and "Mr Monk meets dale the whale". The other, however, were extremely interesting. I always come and watch the show whenever I'm sad. I love it because I sort of relate to Adrian. We both are germaphobes, we're both perfectionists, and we both have a lot of phobias. I rate this show 9.9/10 only because there is a few episodes that I don't like, and some aren't good to watch with parents around.
