This earnest series follows Premiership Rugby's top tier teams vying for the 2022-2023 season's Rugby Cup. In addition to highlighting the experiences of key rugby players and significant moments in key matches, Mud, Sweat, and Tears: Premiership Rugby also delves into some of the turmoil within the league during the last year, including the suspension of three clubs from competition due to financial issues. As a result, this feels somewhat like a redemption story, but one that's focused on re-inspiring faith in the league's entire top tier system. These backstories are interesting, but folks unfamiliar with the sport may find it a little hard to follow. Nonetheless, rugby fans who tune in will no doubt find what is offered here well worth the watch.
