Good for older teens, with solid minds.
Most 8th and 9th graders in public schools know abotu everything mentioned on the show. The issue is do they have the solid minds to decide, hey thats bad. If you think your kid wont be influenced to go and have sex with 3 people in 1 night, go ahead let them watch it.

For a MTV Generation
Since the cast members are 18-25, the show is appropriate for those ages, and mature teenagers. Social issues like aneroxia, alcoholism, and gay stereotypes are addressed in a good way, and the show can be a used as a tool to talk to teens about these issues.

If you want a soft porn on tv then this is perfect.
I saw the first episode and it began like this. They all got togethter in the house. ONe girl whined about there not being a gay guy. A black babtist found the gay guy(there's always a gay guy in the house) and he said "I think it's wrong that your gay". Then they all went out partying. There was a threesome kiss, smacking eachother's buts, etc. They got home and one of the girls wanted to have a "sleepover" with another guy. He said he'd be up in 20 minutes but he ended up making out with another girl and it actually showed about 5 minutes of making out.(oh and they were all drunk as heck). The episode continues like that. How is this the real world? IT's just a bunch of rich, horny, teens.

MATURE teens only not for kids!
This show is inappropriate for children. There are fights galore and the cussing is REALLY BAD!! Words are bleeped but you know what there saying. Most people are immature and whiny they act 12 instead of 21. This show makes kids think that this is how real adults should act, but thats farther than the truth.

I love this show. Its just for some reason fun to watch these idiotic 20 year olds. The people on the show are horrible role models. Pretty much all they do is hook up get drunk and fight. But I am mature enough to handle those kinda of things without thinking its normal to behave in the way the people on this show are. Do not let your child watch this show unless they are mature and are old enough to comprehend that the behavior on this show is not at all acceptable. If you feel your child realizes this then I am sure they are old enough to watch it. Just make sure they do not think that its okay to act like this once there older.

Oh My
This is for sure not for kids. Bad examples, sex, drinking, fights, swearing. Not something for the whole family to sit down to.

An Intense Reality Show
I started watching The Real World back in 2008, and if you give it a chance you can see that it's an amazing reality show. The show is almost like a social experiment. Cameras document the lives of 7-8 total strangers who are forced to deal with one another over the course of 3 months. The show chooses a different cast and a different city to visit every season, keeping it fresh and interesting. As you can imagine, the castmates do go out to party, there is excessive drinking, and some do end up getting drunk. It is not uncommon to see the housemates conduct themselves poorly and behave immaturely. Swearing and fighting happen often. In certain seasons of The Real World people were kicked out of the house and off the show due to inappropriate behavior and physical violence. There are many references to sex, the castmates discuss their sexual experiences/encounters, there is plenty of making out, kissing, relationships, infidelity, intercourse and nudity (sensitive parts are blurred out). There is also discussion of mature content and topics such as homosexuality, abuse, alcoholism, drug addiction, etc. The restaurant Subway is blatantly promoted. Despite all these things, The Real World remains a great show with positive messages. Some of the cast members have inspirational stories that they share. The housemates sometimes do charity work during their stay as well. Not only that, but the show casts people from a variety of minority groups and seeks to break stereotypes and judgements. It's no wonder The Real World has been around since 1992 and is going onto its 27th season. So don't listen to the bad reviews and those who say the show is extremely inappropriate. The Real World is one of the best reality shows out there.
