    • Excessive violence

Watch with caution, but very good.

What kid doesn't love Star Wars. This is actually a very well done show (stiff animated characters not withstanding). However it is very violent. Probably more violent than the original trilogy. And the second season starts off very darker and my 6 year old refused to watch the episodes because of the bounty hunter character. I would really have to say this show is designed for adults, but packaged for kids. If your kid loves Star Wars he can probably handle this, but there is some dark stuff in here and it's really unavoidable.

    Great family entertainment

You probably won't learn anything academic from this show, but for pure entertainment, you can't beat it. The characters are enjoyable, they have complex enough characters for the kids to be enthralled by them, but they are simple enough for the younger viewers to not get lost. Lots of shooting and fighting, but nothing that would make it not worth viewing.

RE "Disappointed in racist remarks by the good guys"

You're missing the point of the episode. In the beginning one of the clones is resentful to them because he has to risk his life to save them and their planet. But in the end, the natives become the key to winning the battle and he realizes that. What's weird is they are clones, all raised in an isolated colony by aliens yet somehow they manage to have different moral values and points of view! :-/

Disappointed in racist remarks by the "good guys

I was very disappointed while watching this with my 8-year-old when the clones, who were supposed to be rescuing a group of people, called them "tail-heads" while insinuating that they were stupid to have gotten themselves into the position to be captured. I guess the upside was it led to an interesting discussion of our family's values.

    Fun show, with some concern

Overall I like this show allot and frequently watch it with my two older boys (7 & 3). The shows are well written and explore a whole host of side plots and characters that the movies would/could never include. Each story has some positive message in it that frequently leads to a short discussion with my oldest. For example, one episode focused on the tension between passivism vs right of self-defense, obedience to your parents & tradition vs protecting others... sometimes they can be rather deep... The level of violence is cartoonish (ie. no blood or gore) and frequently contains slapstick elements, but there is an occasional clone who has his head shot off (nothing shown but the helmet rolling). There is also at least two episodes with a single mild profanity (H-word or D-word)that seem out of place in a kids show and makes me frustrated with the writers.

    Good

Good, the first season would probally be all right for anybody 7 and up, but if you watch the second season you might want to wait for when your kid is about 8 or so, because my 6 year old brother stopped watching it because of that dark looking character, Cad Bane (the bounty hunter).

I had to write a review after I read some others.

I will try and make this review as unopinionated as I can. The first season of Star Wars the clone wars was opened by the movie, which hit theaters in september of '08. In short, the show is just like the movie. -----What Parents should know.----- The show isn't afraid to kill off minor characters, and put major ones in dangerous situations. Basically, the show fallows a war. I also read some reviews saying that their were racial terms in the show (I believe refering to Twi'Leks as head-tails). There is refering to alot of things in slang terms,(Droids as Clankers ex.) but nothing flat out racial. Characters dress was also criticized, and no, you would not like your child running around like some of the characters, but even in that review the writer left the show in a good light. Some die-hard Star Wars fans also took a stab at it, in some very opinionated reviews, but don't seem to grasp that the show is targeted mainly to pre-teens. Bottom line: If you don't like to expose your child to any violence at all, then this show probably isn't for you. If you let your child watch the movies, there's a good chance that the show is good for you.

    STUPID!

This show is stupid. Here is a fake meeting of the writers Boss: the ship designers quit. EEK! what will we do? 1: Oh Oh I know! Lets tick off real Star Wars fans and make a republic Y-Wing!!!!!!!!!1!!1 Boss: Yes yes! and lets give Anifreak and his dumb little sidekick an ultra ugly, over powered ship! 1: Duh. Whats a ship?

Not bad, deep fans will not enjoy as much. A review in regards to older fans.

It's an animated series aimed at kids. Overall, it's not bad. They had to make it animated, for the actors who played the characters are older now. And it's easier that way. Bad points: Fans will be majorly disappointed, especially those 13+. It just doesn't live up to the original Star Wars. And some of it's a little cheesy. Good points: While aimed at kids, it still uses many major SW themes. It doesn't lose any points there. And it isn't kiddy-fied that much. It's actually enjoyable for a cartoon. It also uses many characters that are barely touched upon in the movies. Most details are very accurate to the Star Wars realm. All in all, if older fans can survive through the corny lines and Anakin (Darth Vader, usually emo) acting like he's so good, he's holy, it's quite enjoyable. Definately worth watching, if none of your other favorite shows are on. And younger kids will love it.

    Just so you know...

In the episode "Rookies",after the clone trooper Cutup gets eaten by a giant eel,Heavy, another clone says "What the hell was that?"The producers found out and changed it to "heck".

    Inappropriate rating

I don't think this should have been rated 8 + because I believe the slutty outfits on the girl characters are very inappropriate. They wear either practically nothing or this tube tops with under-wear shaped shorts. As for the content of this show, I personally dislike it and think it is an insult to Star Wars.

This show is actually pretty good.

When i saw the preview of the movie, I was unsure if i would watch this or the series. I saw the series and I loved it. I later watched the film and it was just as good if not better. The tv series has a new adventure each week it is on. I get sad when it goes away. This is cool also sinc there is a parental guidence block on before it starts so little little kids may not be able to watch it. 5 stars.
