I really enjoy it and wonder if I should let my 14 and a half year old daughter watch it. Let me tell you she is very mature and has heard swearing at school, violence doesn't bother her and knows about the birds and bees. She is reading the series and doesn't joke about it her dad is reading and discussing it with her. If you have an opinion on the subject e-mail me at kaitacatwhisperer@yahoo*
I personally love this show I have seen all the episodes it is extremely graphic however and I strongly suggest some discretion with allowing your teen to watch it. I don't let my daughter watch it because I'm not comfortable with her seeing all the nudity the rest is fine the only issue I have is with the nudity and sexaul behavior
Absolutely hate the show. I bought the season one serious because I needed to fill my twilight void. This show is NOTHING like the wonderful romance books in the Twilight Saga. All the women in the show are portrayed as dumb, sex objects. The acting is terrible. The so-called souther drawl they have is nothing like lousiana--i ought to know, I'm from Louisiana. The vampires are just plain evil and satanic rapists. I was totally turned off by this show and I'm getting a refund!
Very similar aspects to twilight, but much more hardcore. The sex and violence is raw and realistic, but a little bit too much at times - to the point of off-setting, discomfort, and raised brows, even to an experienced 17 year old. Enjoyed the show somewhat, but not for the acting or harsh depiction of southern attitude and thought process. The storyline and juicy episode-ending scene are what hook you for more. Not too much beneficial content at all though. My advice? keep the Twilight Tweeny boppers away from this one... This is the dark, inappropriate side of the New Moon.
This show I started watching last season, so I have a lot to catch up on, but I would say 17+ with the parent's consent. It is an adult show, not made for children or young teens. It is a grown up fantasy and fairytale, with supernatural thrown into the mix. It is awesome if you are an adult and vampires and the supernatural are things you can tolerate. Can't wait to catch up where I left off onto Season three:)
not the best show. Probably okay for 16+, unless they're the "sheltered" type. Still don't recommend. There's a lot of sex and violence and obscene language. Role models and messages are negligent. Not for kids under 16, and definitely not for under 14.
I like true blood, but the sex overshadows the message of respect toward those who are different. It ends up being about screwing each other and taking vampire blood, instead of serving as food for thought or highlighting injustice.
True Blood is just another vampire show. I watched it with my 15 year old sister and when I started watching it I was 17 years old. 11 summers ago. I am now 28. This show I would definitely not let my 10 year old watch. She wanted to watch it so much with me but I wouldn't let her because of the violence, sexual content, and strong language. But I mean for a 13-14 year old it's not like you can't handle sexual content violence and language. It would be okay for 13-14 year olds. But definitely not anyone under the age of 13.
I absolutely love the show! I read every single Sookie Stackhouse book and I loved those! The tv series is much like the books, lots of hot sex scenes and language. I would just like to say that I think it is most definitely not appropriate for anyone under 17 because of all the sex. However, for 17 & up crowd, it's great. Definitely not like the Twilight series (which I love), but definitely has some similarities (vamp-human relationship, forbiden love, etc). I would recommend reading the books first though, because it gives you an idea if you are going to even like the show. If you read the books and enjoyed them, then you'll definitely enjoy the series!!!
This show is one of the best shows i have seen in hbo. Its maimly for older teens and more for adults. It has graphic violence, sex, and foul language. Not for kids but excellent for adults
