    Great show for kids

I think the show is very good!!! Yes alex is not always the best role modle at times yet in each episode she grows a little as a better person. The show is filled with good messages, children can learn with alex, who is not perfect by any strech of the imagination. The show emphsizes the importance of family, that problems cant be solved by a flick of a wand or saying a spell and that when you try to find a way around a situation it makes matters worse. I think this show is brillent, some of the episodes are somewhat cheesy but they are good!!!!

    Funny, not Good Role Models

I have seen this show a few times and it is a funny show. I wouldn't let anyone under 10 see it though because of some comments made and issues covered. Alex Russo is not a good role model for girls because she fails to take school or work seriously. She has a bad attitude that girls should not follow.

    Alex is BIG TROUBLE

I think she's kind of funny, cute and pretty. I likes her acting when she love to borrow money from someone. I likes to join this show. Why? I'm 18 because being TV Actor is my dreams. Will you please hire me as TV Actor? I begun waitin this for long time.

    WORST ROLE MODEL EVER!!!!!

how can you dare say this show is appropraite alex is the worst role model ever and she never learns her lesson she sneaks out of the house to go to R rated movies (she's 16),dates much older boys,is mean and rude to her family and classmates, fails classes and gets her powers suspeneded and does something troublesome in every episode.this show is sooo fake mainly because selena gomez is starring in it she is soo fake it annoys me i hate how she acts so cute and innocent when she's divious and sinister she's what they call a video girl and is a terrible role model and she looks up to britney spears miley is real and amazingly talented watch hannah montana instead its funny and greatly role modeled

    Not all that funny.

I find it annoying that every episode deals with the clever kids outwitting and often lying to their dimwitted parents. I'd prefer my kids not to watch it.

beware of waverly place ESPECIALLY if you have a daughter

Diligent parents beware. Alex is a girl obsessed with how she looks and what boy likes her. She fails tests effortlessly and shows no concern for her poor grades. In fact, she tells her brother that she doesn't worry about making good grades b/c she's more worried about not ending up alone. What message are we sending our girls? Look pretty, act dumb and find a man that will want to date and take care of you. For a girl so young she has one singular obsession boys. Even her love of clothing is driven to get a guy. Her interest in spells are driven to get a guy. If this very disturbing lack of independence and self knowledge isn't disturbing enough. Look at the contrast between Alex and the other males. The males of the family are smart and achievers (father teaches the kids in magic). The sons are all competent in magic as Alex stumbles along usually lucking out in the end. Lesson learned? Men are naturally smart and achieve. Girls should have no interest in being intellectual and don't worry someone will save you in the end. Alex doesn't have to be be a "nerd" but Fs are unexceptable. In one episode, Alex fails spanish (she is half hispanic on her mother's side, while father teaches the kids his heritage mother does not. very patriarchial). The only reason she has an interest in passing is to (guess) get a date w/ a guy. Overall, i'd say watch closely and discuss these issues w/ your kids. If you are into female empowerment, stay clear!

    Typical squeaky-clean Disney show

This show is your average tween show from Disney Channel. There is no objectionable content and there are some morals present. If you check it out, don't let the cheesiness get to you because it is a good show.

Good show for 6-11 age range

Parents need to know that this disney show potrays j innocent magic, but that may be a problem with some christian ppl.Alex often has a different boyfriend/love intrest almost every 2-5 episodes and in one episode she randomly kissed a guy she didnt even know....just to get her first kiss. The role models arent too good.....in one episode..the parents decided to leave thier daughter in the hands of vampires and save her friend instead...other than that, the parents usually try to set rules and stop thier kids from playing with maic(which doesnt always work).Their arent really any messages, but the message of rosponsibiility upon all others, thiers also the message of treating you brother/sister good.

    Really? With whyamiusingthissite!

Really? No negative messages? Here's a quote that stuck to me: "Amazing! With these powers, we don't have to walk all the way over there and do that!" The kid was talking about walking five feet to get a hot dog! You sould at least get a little exercise before stuffing your face with white bread, pig intestines and ketchup! Really? it's not bad that she skipped her strange version of school to go to a clothes store, even though her friend was there and could have bought whatever she wanted for her?! Really Disney? This is what you are doing? If you want stupid kids, all you have to do is tell people to not send them to school, you don't make an obnoxious American suburb version of Harry Potter! And really Common Sense? You give this show a good review? I have a B in every class I take, and I see aroung this bologna!(Yes, that's how you spell 'baloney' on a proper reading level!) I'm madder than Lewis Black at a stupid news coverage people convention! That's blistering fury for those of you who don't enjoy the works of one of this nation's funniest comedians.

Wizards of Waverly Place is one of my favorite disney channel comedy shows. Alex is not such a great role model, she lies, cheats, and sometimes is disrespectful to her family but she is still awesome!

    O_O

Its a okay show, but only because of its funny moments. I don't want it all the time, but using magic to solve problems?! Or even cause problems? In the real world you can't use magic to fix problems. Though, it does have good imagination skills

    Cute but, not for youngsters....

I like this show but there is a lot of rudeness, disrespect to parents and adults, and meanness to siblings and friends portrayed by the charecters. It's cute, but isn't a good influence on young children.

    not for kindergarteners. nonono.

I love this show and it's perfectly age appropriate for ages 9+, but there is some rudeness that comes from Alex (main character). It's typical teenage rebellion and very relevant to someone around 10, but for little kids it does not really set a super positive example. its still cute and yes, there is a lesson to each show. I'm very excited for the movie to come out (August 28th!)

    Good for some kids

I think the show is okay, but that's just me. Since a lot of young girls watch this show, they really like Alex-but I think she is a bad role model for children

The actors are great, the scripts aren't.

It's a fine show, really. There's nothing too bad about it. A little kiss here, some crushes there. But there's a moral to every one of the stories, even if it's subtle. The only problem I have with WoWP is that the plotlines kind of... suck. It's not that they're unoriginal, it's that they have no strength. As an example, there was an episode where Alex's wizard uncle comes to town, takes the kids to a zoo, opens junk mail, and floods the wizard's lair. There was a positive message at the end, but no interesting beginning or middle, just random magical happenings. The acting is quite good, though. Selena Gomez, who graces the TV set as Alex Russo, is one of the best Disney actresses out there. Her older TV-brother David Henrie is also pretty talented. He has his moments of so-so acting, but he's mostly spot-on. Even young actor Jake T. Austin is getting better and better every episode. The actors save the show, really. So, all in all, a pretty good show for kids. But if you start to get too old (I'd say at around 13 or 14), you'll start to notice the random plotlines. Four stars.

Wizards is a great show for kids because by the end of the episode there is always a moral. I think that Selena's acting is very fluent and seems to come naturally to her. She is the rebel but learns that there are always conciseness for breaking the rules.

I have heard a few comments on the show that may be inappropriate. The teenage girl (Alex Russo.) Makes sexual comments here and there on her older brother (Justin Russo) about him looking, being, and acting like a girl. I recommend 10+.
