What My Kids Love Now

Herbie the Love Bug (all of the ones from the 1960s), Happy Feet, The Red Balloon, Duma and Skippy John Jones

House Rules

We have family movie night once a week. Our kids are young (5 and 8), so no gaming, cell phones or computer yet - unless it's for homework. Media is something we try to enjoy as a family.

When the Kids Are Asleep…

I hang out with my husband, listen to music, talk to my extended family, read and do extra work for Common Sense! I won't miss an episode of The Closer or Extreme Makeover/Home. And I won't miss anything with Matt Damon in it either : )

My Biggest Challenge Is:

Getting ready for the digital onslaught - computers, cell phones, facebook, ipods, etc, - and making sure our kids handle it responsibly.

Not a movie for your teen or tween...

Definitely not a family-friendly movie - it has a lot of sexual innuendo and swearing. Also, the plot was a bit cumbersome and hard to follow, even for an adult. This is a movie kids can skip!

Great message, not so great after effects...

Our five and eight year old boys loved the movie and ask to see it over and over again. One caution: if anyone doubts the influence of movies on kids behavior, come by our house after the movie is ...
