Since sexuality seems to be a major theme on this website, I'm surprised that this movie isn't totally being panned. The basic plot revolves around lust. It's even stated pretty ...

My Biggest Challenge Is:
Titles You’ve Reviewed

DVD: The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
I rate this titleoffand give itMy concerns are:- Excessive violence
- Inappropriate sexual content
- Negative role models
Not good for anyone.

DVD: Bedtime Stories
I rate this titleiffyand give itMy concerns are:- Inappropriate sexual content
- Drinking, smoking, or drug use
Surprisingly cute.
To be honest, as far as concerns go, the official review on this site is pretty accurate. My husband and I wanted to see it, and after seeing a preview with the raining gumballs, so did my son. ...

Movie: Toy Story
I rate this titleiffyand give itMy concerns are:- Excessive violence
Two previous reviewers nailed my feelings about this movie: "...I realized how much violence is strewn through the film. The toys fight each other, call each other insulting names, the kid Sid next ...

DVD: Up
I rate this titleiffyand give itMy concerns are:- Excessive violence
Don't take your little kids!
The movie was quite good--just not for kids! I made the mistake of NOT checking here before I took my kid to see it--first and last time. It was terrible. He was bored or terrified by turns. We ...

Book: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
I rate this titleonand give itFantastic, fun read
I read this book and watched the movie as a kid, and I love them both just as much now as I did then. My son enjoyed it thoroughly, just as much as I did, and I can't wait to watch the movie with ...

DVD: The Princess Bride
I rate this titleiffyand give itEven though I'm the world's biggest prude...
I let my 4 year old watch this movie, because it's my favorite movie in the world. It's not sooo bad...*blush* Ok, yeah, so there's torture, death by poisoning yada yada yada. It's a great movie. ...

DVD: Beetlejuice
I rate this titleiffyand give itRead the kids' reviews!
The kids noticed and cared more that there was a whore house in this movie than the adults did! My husband and I debated letting our kid see it, and were thinking it was ok, but then he remembered ...

DVD: The NeverEnding Story
I rate this titleiffyand give itI enjoy this movie, but...
I can't wait for my kid to get old enough to watch it! I keep trying to watch these old favorites of mine hoping that he's old enough, but he just isn't (he's 4). This one's a definite hold off. I ...

TV: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!
I rate this titleonand give itMy kid loves Scooby Doo!
My only real problem (and it isn't enough to make my son stop watching) is a fairly high level of sexism in the shows. For example, Fred is constantly giving Daphne grief for being "danger-prone ...

TV: The Magic School Bus
I rate this titleonand give itgreat show!
I am very conservative regarding what I let my kid watch--every movie must be screened before he sees it to be sure it's ok. The magic school bus meets every criterion--there is no sex, no violence, ...

DVD: Bedknobs and Broomsticks
I rate this titleiffyand give itNazis?!
I really enjoyed this movie as a child, and looked forward to being able to share it with my children. I rented it a while ago to see if I thought it was ok (refresh my memory) and I don't think it ...

Movie Trailer Bait and Switch
Your Comments:I'm sorry, cyotemple, maybe I'm misunderstanding something here. You went to see a Quentin Tarrantino film, and you're complaining about graphic violence? Really? And yeah, I only use the MPAA rating as a starting point when gauging whether a movie is ok for my kid. Either I watch it or I come here and check it out before he sees it. I learned by the time he was 2 that MPAA ratings are inconsistent and unreliable. I guess now we'll either skip previews at the theater or stop going. I had noticed they were worse--I mean, a Transformers trailer complete with sexual innuendo in front of G Force? Yikes! We were upset about that, but had no idea it signaled a major change in preview rules.
