First off all, your kid should know the difference between real life and a game, so they don't make them lose empathy or be more aggressive. By the way, most of us do know the difference. Yes, there is the occasional profanity, but there's also a mute button. We hear it at school every day. Parents who try to shelter their kids by not letting them play online don't have a clue.

Your Comments:Do you go to your child school to eavesdrop on him talking to his friends? So, why do you read his texts? It is essentially the same thing. One poster said that they are fine with their employer monitoring them at work because he pays for the internet. They do that so they don't lose productivity, not because they actually care what you are searching. Many parents are paranoid, but you have to trust your kids. They are smarter than you think. Chances are, if they trust you, they will tell you anyways.
