My Parents’ House Rules
My parents are very fair on what I can and cannot watch or read. Some stuff is too mature for me, and I accept that, but for the most part it's all good.

Let's Stop Inappropriate Movie Trailers
Your Comments:I can't help but think this is all a bit of an overreaction. The fact is, people will see things of this sort, especially kids, if thats what they want to see. If they don't see the trailer there, they'll see it on TV, or it'll be the featured video on youtube. There are too many types of media now to think you can eliminate this problem just by talking to the theater managers. As for things being "Too scary" I find that ridiculous. Kids like to be scared once in a while, it makes the whole story more compelling and draws you in more. And since it's a kids movie, it makes good's win over evil that much more exciting. And anyway if I recall correctly, the tunnel from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" was _far_ scarier than anything shown in the trailers today. With so much media, we shouldn't be coddling them as much as educating them.

Sex and Media Tips
Your Comments:It's ridiculous how we make such big deals over sex and media, then we don't talk with our kids about any contraception besides abstinance. Despite the church's lies, condoms DO work when properly used. They are 99.99% effective at stopping pregnancy and STD's. Please, don't be silly. Wrap your willy.

Impact of Media Violence Tips
Your Comments:If you look, the links between fake violence and real is still inconclusive. I believe, the young mind has the ability to tell the difference between them, but it is still an issue of young minds then possibly thinking this violence is acceptable. Violent media should be kept away from children aged 0-12, but it has now so thickly permeated our sociaty, that exposure is inevitable. But after age 12+, we young adults have the ability to understand the differance from real and fake, and we can understand how the world works well enough to not instantly become terrorists from violent media. I watch Burn Notice, I play Halo, and I'm okay. And your kids will be too.
