What My Kids Love Now

We are reading classic novels and watching the movie. Jungle Book, Wizard of Oz, Robin Hood (Errol Flynn version), The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe. Makes for great discussion.

House Rules

Kids do flash cards every AM. Each card they get right counts as 5 minutes of 'screen time': computer, videogame or TV. They pool their resources to have enough to watch a movie at the end of the day

When the Kids Are Asleep…

Broadcast TV, we don't have cable. Sometimes I treat myself to a Brendan Fraser DVD.

My Biggest Challenge Is:

Getting through the summer without their brains turning to mush. I try to do some structured 'school work' every day but it still feels like a losing battle.
