I'm wondering. They've ALMOST disappeared without a trace. The legacy lives on with Pixar, however, who always manages to produce an innovative, intelligent, moving, and entertaining movie that ...

What I love now
I'm currently nurturing and growing a lifelong fascination with all types of world history.
My Parents’ House Rules
There really aren't any rules. Not that I'm a crazy, insolent wild-child; I guess they just raised me the right way and they trust me. Take THAT, extremeist, right-wing Christians!
In My Free Time

Book: The Da Vinci Code
I rate this titleonand give itAn Interesting Thriller with Historical and Religious Fabric.
Common Sense's despcription of "too arcane for younger kids..." is a bit of a laugh. Dan Brown is probably the most simplistic author I've ever read, considering the size of his books. His writing ...

A great film shot in my own state.
Is it better than Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby?" Probably not. But it is still pretty fantastic! Although Clint uses a lot of swear words and racial slurs, they aren't used just for the sake of ...

TV: SpongeBob SquarePants
I rate this titleonand give it- My highlights are:
One good show in an ocean of crap.
Seriously. No kidding. But even Spongebob has slipped in quality in the past couple of years. Nevertheless, it remains one of the greatest shows to grace itself on children's television. And ...

The beginning of the epitome of modern filmmaking.
Alright, so basically, the Lord of the Rings films are almost universally called some of the best films of all time. I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. If you're looking for a direct book ...

DVD: Napoleon Dynamite
I rate this titleonand give it- My highlights are:
Couldn't stand it, but maybe you can.
Yeah, yeah, I know it's a cult classic, but I never saw anything special about Napoleon Dynamite. The humor and plot fall so short for me, it's not even funny (and I mean that in the most literal ...

Embarrassing and Crude...but it was FINE.
Bruno was oh-so inappropriate on so many levels, but it was FINE. Just because it has flopping genitals doesn't automatically make it a one-star movie, okay? People are way to edgy these days. It ...

Television at its best, but not for the youngins'.
Alright, so there are a lot of things in this show that aren't appropriate for little kids. Does that mean it's a bad show? Absolutely not. I am consistently astounded by the severe stupidity of ...

DVD: Marley & Me
I rate this titleonand give it- My highlights are:
A Pretty Average Memoir Adaption
Let me start off by saying that I haven't read the book. Well, that wasn't so hard, was it? Phew. Anyway, in short, I don't think that this story made the best possible transition to screen. ...

A Refreshing Comedy Movie That Is Perfect For Teens
I'm not a HUGE fan of Will Ferrell, and I wasn't expecting anything fantastic, but I was pleasantly surprised by the whole package. It has pretty much the same plot ELEMENTS of most comedy movies ...

Not Very Frightening, but Probably Not for the Younger Crowd
Overall, a pretty good movie and adaption to Stephen King's classic novel. There is quite a bit of violence, sex, and language, though (as is in the book). It isn't terribly frightening (I would ...

DVD: Yes Man

For some, falls short, for others, big laugh.
I really like Jim Carrey, and I was expecting something great in what was his first big comedy film in some time. I was pretty disappointed. I can honestly say that my grand total of big laughs ...

iPhones, Apps, and Preschoolers
Your Comments:I agree with this article. If the kid is content with messing around with the apps, and it keeps him or her busy, fantastic. Kids should get a cellphone when they start walking home from the bus stop or from school...when going out with friends becomes more of a common activity...When the parent feels like they should give their child a little more free space. Depending on the kid (or parents, for that matter), that could be anywhere from ages 11-15. I'm still a teen, but I like to think that if I ever become a parent, I will give my kids as much breathing room as they want. I DON'T want to force them to do things they don't want to do. I WON'T force them to eat foods that they don't like. And if, for some reason, we're caught up in some kind of ridiculous line (at the airport, for example, as was described in this article), I wouldn't hesitate to let my child play a game on my phone *IF THEY ASKED FOR IT.* Before anything, I would try to entertain the child myself before I let a material electronic device keep them busy. :)

Smoking in the Media Tips
Your Comments:I am personally indifferent to smoking, but will never do it myself. I don't think that it's immoral, degrading, or evil (haha), but, on the same token, I *do* think that it is rather nasty, addicting, and harmful to one's health. I'm not a psychologist, and I couldn't really tell you my views on whether celebrities smoking is truly impacting the youth. But I will say that I think drugs are far more concerning than cigarettes. Are both bad for you? Certainly. But one is illegal, my friends (in my state, it's legal for medical use only). This may be a bit of a bombshell of some parents out there, but the source of all of that pot can probably traced back to parents 80% of the time...just saying. Just because one of YOU as a parent doesn't do drugs, that doesn't mean that every single parent out there is an incurable good samaritan that you think you are.

Full-Frontal Awkwardness
Your Comments:I really don't understand why nudity is so taboo in our society. WHAT is the big deal, folks? Maybe the context in which the nudity is involved in may be inappropriate, but it's not like it isn't a part of everyday life. As other people have said, I'd be more concerned about the other messages the 12-year-old got from the movie (although, at 12-years-old, people can usually think for themselves and aren't as impressionable as many of you are making them out to be). And then, when the girl said: "I've seen worse," and the woman said: "Really?" I couldn't help but laughing. Honestly, she's in middle school, right? Doesn't anyone remember being in middle school? When you aren't hearing swear words and seeing people get flipped off and people kissing, you're being bombarded by penises and vaginas in the science classroom.

When Good Role Models Go Bad
Your Comments:These people are human beings, and therefore make mistakes and participate in things that others may consider wrong. But in MY opinion, parents shouldn't freak out every time their kid's celebrity crush is caught doing drugs or beating up his girlfriend. There's always some ridiculous commotion like: "Oh my Lord, my son looked up to so-and-so, and he was caught doing such-and-such." I'm not a parent, heck, I'm not even an adult, but I have to ask myself: What has the world come to when parents can't be role models for their own kids? When they instead let random celebrities do it, and when that celebrity is caught doing drugs, it's a big deal. Come on, parents, get over yourselves and take matters into your own hands. Geez, talk about 'Common Sense.'
