What My Kids Love Now
I currently do not have any children, but I am an aunt.
House Rules
I do not allow my nieces, who are 12 and 13 to see anything that is not rated G. I make sure that everything they see is free of sexual content, nudity, bad role models, language, and violence. I'm one of the few people left who tries there best to keep children safe from things like sex. I believe that no one under the age of 21 should know about sex. Call me crazy if you want, I just think that children should be kept safe.
When the Kids Are Asleep…
I myself think that media is frankly disgusting. Remember the day's when you could turn on the TV and there would be something kid appropriate on. Remember Rudolph the Red Nosed Rain dear? Remember all that clean TV and movies free of sex and violence? Say goodbye to those days, now there are only a few appropriate TV programs and Movies. The thing that hits me as a sign of this is Spongebob Squarepants. This show is awful and inappropriate, it is filled with sex and violence and mean names. And they recommended it to 7 year olds? This is something that disturbs me, I would not let anyone under 15 watch that. However, ever since the fourth season of SB things have improved.
My Biggest Challenge Is:
Trying to keep my house free of the dirt recommended to teens and children.

Keep in mind that Rudolph isn't for really young children because of the snow monster, but anyone older than 10 should love Rudolph. It's fun for the whole family if your children are tweens or teens.

The movie as a whole comes off as rather dooms day ish. Do you really want your kid to know about dooms day. EVE also has a gun, and that disturbed me greatly.
