I love this book! Although there is dome violence, it is dealt with tactfully. The killing in the book is pointless and meaningless, and the fact that Katniss ( a strong female character) points this ...

What I love now
I'm a musical girl. I love Coldplay, Brandi Carlile, Miranda Lambert, A Fine Frenzy, Michelle Branch, and KT Tunstall. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is/was an EPIC show. Oh, and Dilbert!
My Parents’ House Rules
My mom has a very healthy view of media issues like sex and violence. She doesn't promote anything that is hateful to certain races, genders, sexual orientations, etc., and trusts me.

Racy Music and Your Kids
Your Comments:First of all, CommonSenseMedia is ALWAYS going off about the portrayal of women in songs. Forgive my blatant misogyny, but, umm, whatever happened to gender equality? I hear plenty of songs portraying *men* (that's right, gasp with me) as stupid, lust-driven sex objects. Was does CSM have to say about these songs? How sad it is that women in our society rely on sex to be famous. WTF guys. As for my house, my mom is kind of inconsistent with whether or not she cares what I listen to. She's more concerned about my rap-loving brother.
