Some of the humor is definitely written for teens or adults, but younger children can enjoy the comedy and visuals. It is a little grim compared to the original "Ice Age". My six year old enjoyed it ...

What My Kids Love Now
Favorites are always books - I'm still trying to figure that one out. They will read anything they can get their hands on - even the little one will tell stories from his books based on picutres. Hidden object books are his passion right now. Other things in my house: classics like Little House on the Prarie, or books on history and science; Anything with pirates and knights; Journaling. Wizard 101 is really big in our house right now, too. My little one has event created an avitar and spends his allotted time learning how to make the toon get from point A to point B, how to jump, how to read the map - not too much more.
House Rules
Earn family money by completing chores and helping others. Family money is redeemable for five minutes of time on the phone with friends or with any electronic toys: tv, online games, hand-held games. Bonuses are given when the child goes beyond their comfort zone to help someone else or to go beyond the boundaries of the assigned job/chore. Certain channels (and some shows on approved stations) are blocked. If not physically, my children know what I consider inappropriate and won't watch them. I've often heard my eldest explain before I enter the room that they will need to find another program because what just came on was inappropriate.
When the Kids Are Asleep…
Catch up on housework, laundry and preparing for the next day. I often end the evening in front of the tv or computer for a 1/2 hour of ME time.
My Biggest Challenge Is:
My youngest. He's hillarious when he misbehaves, and trying to temper that behavior is hard when you're too busy laughing inside.
