What Parents Need to Know
About CreaturePark
Parents need to know that this virtual pet site requires kids to buy Creature Bucks (virtual money bought with real credit cards that parents have to provide) to keep their pets alive. Though they don't really stand out, Google ads are displayed on most pages of this site, and a retail store with Creature Park products is also featured. You do need to download special software from the site to play.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about how taking care of a virtual pet is similar to caring for a real pet. How is it different? If a real pet is unhealthy or hungry, how would they show you? Is the virtual pet world good practice for owning a real pet? Families can also discuss why sites would make you pay real money to keep a virtual pet alive. Would it be better to spend money on a live animal?

Great for young children!
With some help from you to get started, and do the reading, this game is great for little ones to get used to the computer. No sex, language or violence here. Just cute little creatures waitng to be taken care of. Many free creatures offered. Food must be bought to keep creatures healthy. Interesting mix of creatures to choose from, some more active than others. Let your liitle ones give it a try. It's nice to have a game for them!

Teaches pet care
Great game to teach young children to be responsible for a pet, also shows the expences that go along with pet ownership. $5.00 on your credit card gets your child $500.00 in creature bucks, which allows them to buy and take care of there creature for months. Some creatures of the same type and of different parents will have babies if well taken care of. These creatures can be sold to raise money for food or kept to show the work involved in multiple mouths to feed. My rule, no live pet until a child can keep a virtual pet alive for three months. Much cheaper and easier than taking care of a real pet for years!
