What Parents Need to Know
About Fbi.gov/fbikids.htm
Parents need to know that this section of the FBI Web site teaches kids and teens about how the FBI works and offers helpful lessons on being safe both on and offline. The site is educational and completely safe. Although the tone and graphics are appropriate for each age group (there are sections for grades K-5 and 6-12), the site is text-heavy and the reading level skews a bit high in places. The site links to the FBI's home page.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about the safety tips presented on this site, which are mostly geared toward younger kids. Have you ever been in a situation where you felt unsafe, either online or offline? If so, what did you do about it? Families of older kids and teens can talk about the science and procedures the FBI uses to investigate crimes. Families with older kids can talk about if shows like CSI and Law & Order accurate in how they depict investigations?
