What Parents Need to Know

About Gamespot

Parents need to know that this site is a good one for them to explore, since you can see screenshots and read plot scenarios and reviews for all those games your kids are playing now or asking you to buy. Sometimes you can also find "walk-throughs" for the games. These are very detailed scripts that tell you every game move and describe the best way to play to win. This is a great timesaver for parents who want to know exactly what happens in the games. While the site has some merits, young kids don't belong there due to the violence portrayed in the trailers as well as the buxom and scantily clad heroines in some of the screenshots.

Best game review site out there.

This is the best site for reviewing all games. For starters, unlike many sites, they don't show porn unless you are looking for it. Plus, the main review has NO profanity, so the only profanity that you will come by is the profanity you are looking for. Also, if you know which game you are looking at, just Google search the game and Gamespot and you can go directly to the game. There is very little to be concerned about with this site and I advise it when looking at games. The only problem is, like most critics, if one thing goes wrong, they criticize the whole game and make up stuff that isn't true about the game so don't believe everything that they say (they give Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games a 4.5 or something like that and much of the criticism isn't even true).

    Now come on...

The review of this website is complaining about how gamespot.com puts violence in a positive role, yet is it not true that most of those games that contain violence are played FOR the violence? People play video games to escape reality and do things that they would or should NEVER do in real life. When a person plays a video game, they do not play it and become immoral fiends, but instead stay the same way that they used to be, whether this was inherently violent or shy and affable. Now, it would be rather obvious if a small child was playing a violent or sexually graphic game that they would not understand what they were seeing, but that is mostly due to the fact that they have not been explained to by their parents what all of it is. Due to this, I do not believe that small children under the age of eight or nine should be allowed to see it, but it is only because of the aforementioned fact. Another fact of the matter is that one thousand years old, everybody was surrounded by violence and immorality, yet they did not go insane and start killing people without appropriate reason. This is one reason why I believe that people who claim that violence in the media and entertainment is the cause for the corruption of the present youth are wrong. The reasons why these people kill others are probably that they either have psychological issues and serious developmental problems, or that they are being threatened by those around them and the instinct to survive takes over their minds. So, now come on and stop complaining about such pathetic things as advertising violence on a website because in the end, like this review, it makes no difference at all.

    Good site for game reviews

I think this is a great site to go for game reviews. There is, of course, screenshots of games, some of which are violent.
